What is your most memorable wedding?
Jade & John's wedding at The Grand Pier. It was very different to any other wedding in that it was all on the Pier at Weston-Super-Mare with beautiful sea views, fish and chip canapes and two hours of fun included in the arcade for all guests! Not to mention the most amazing shots taken at sunset with exclusive access to the back of the pier!
Describe your style in 5 adjectives.
Bright, colourful, modern, fun and friendly
What about your business are you most proud of?
That couples feel at ease when they book with me. They can get a feeling for who I am and how I work after meeting me and having a pre-wedding photoshoot, knowing they can trust me to capture their precious memories. I aim to be there for you and to help make your day run that little bit more smoothly!
What is your No. 1 wedding planning tip for couples?
Write down every idea and be organised; have somewhere to put all of your ideas, notes, receipts, invoices etc. to help ease that overwhelming feeling.
Plus remember it is YOUR day, so do it YOUR way!
What is your favourite personal touch you have seen at a wedding?
A bride had unique and beautiful patterns from her late Grandmother's wedding dress embroidered into the bottom of her own dress.
Describe your typical process with a couple.
It all starts with your initial enquiry and a consultation to see if I could be right for you.
In order to book, a 25% booking fee of the total amount is required along with a signed contract.
If you've chosen a full day package then we'll meet up for a pre-wedding photoshoot around 2-3 months before your wedding day. This is a great opportunity for us to get to know each other better and to ease any nerves you may have about having your photo taken.
I'm open to any questions about your wedding planning process along the way and more than happy to help out with anything, whether that's with recommendations or just general advice (I got married in 2018 and still remember the process fairly well!).
The remaining amount for your wedding photography can be paid at anytime up until 4 weeks before your wedding date.
Next in the process is your wedding day! I'll arrive either first thing in the morning at bridal prep or 30-40 mins before your ceremony depending on what package chosen.
I'll stay throughout the day until I've captured everything; this includes plenty of natural photos, groups and portraits and all of the key moments.
You will receive a sneak preview of a few photos asap (usually the day after), then all of your photos should be ready around two weeks later for you to download from an online gallery.
The last step of your journey with me is designing your album. I will ask you to choose your favourite photos for this plus any for your folio box, triplex or canvas, if required. It can then take 2-3 weeks for them to be hand delivered by myself.
Then it's all down to you to live out the rest of your married lives together!...
...Maybe I'll hear from you in a few years time to book in a family photoshoot!?
What is the No. 1 photo that you think every couple should take?
I usually like to take you both away for a few minutes, just after you've tied the knot, to get some natural photos of you both. Lot's of laughter and chatting together, capturing the love between you.
These will be photos for you to cherish forever!
What is the most original photo you’ve been asked to take at a wedding?
A funny, staged photo of a bridesmaid straddling a stair banister surrounded by the other bridesmaids! Absolutely random but hilarious, see if you can spot it in my gallery!
What do you recommend for a rainy day wedding?
Lots of umbrellas! I have a knowledge of 'off camera flash' which means I can take photos indoors without worrying about natural light and can create some amazing photos. I always carry umbrellas along with heel protectors to stop your heels sinking into soggy mud!
Describe how you got into photography.
It took me a few years to realise what my passion was in life and it was on my wedding day after watching my own wedding photographer at work I realised what it was! I decided I'd like to start my own wedding photography business and with the help of a fantastic mentor it became a reality. If you have seen my logo on my photos, then you may have noticed an orchid. They were my wedding flowers and our colour scheme was purple and blue which can be seen in my branding. This represents the day my business was born and my love of weddings as well as the day I married my own hubby.
