What is your most memorable wedding?
July 2015. It was raining when I woke and continued to rain all day; still raining when I left late in the evening. Plans for photos had to be changed at the last minute and timings went out the window. We worked with the couple and the other suppliers, ensuring that the bad weather did not affect the atmosphere of the day and that we still produced some stunning images that the couple loved.
Describe your style in 5 adjectives.
Discreet, natural, classic, friendly, professional
What about your business are you most proud of?
The compliments that we receive both during and after every wedding
What is your No. 1 wedding planning tip for couples?
Plan early. All too often we have couples requesting a date within the next 6 months, only to find that we are already booked. Many couples will start to plan 12-18 months before their wedding and it is not uncommon to be booked up to 2 years in advance.
What is your favourite personal touch you have seen at a wedding?
A small tree sculpture which guests could hang personal messages from.
Describe your typical process with a couple.
After booking us, we will ask you to complete a wedding details form and sign our contract. You will be offered a free engagement/pre-wedding session, to be taken at a date and location of your choice. Your final payment will be due no later than 3 weeks before your wedding and once this has been paid, we will contact you to ensure that the details are still current, and visit the venues. We will then ask to meet to discuss the day in more detail and talk through any image ideas we have.
What is the No. 1 photo that you think every couple should take?
It may sound corny, but the first kiss during the wedding ceremony. It is that moment which really seals the marriage and is the moment that the couples can start to relax.
What is the most original photo you’ve been asked to take at a wedding?
Capturing all the guests standing together to form the shape of a heart.
What do you recommend for a rainy day wedding?
We don't recommend anything. We have some lovely cream umbrellas that can be used by the bridal party and we find that rain can add atmosphere to the images.
Describe how you got into photography.
I grew up with a brother who was into photography, helping him in the darkroom that had been built in a cupboard at our home. When my daughter started GCSE photography, my passion was kickstarted again.
