Sometimes I meet a couple before booking to explain how I work etc, some couples will book without meeting, based on my portfolio and very often personal recommendations. I include a pre-wedding shoot so couples get to know me a little bit beforehand and get used to being photographed by me. I find this helps to put couples more at ease on the wedding day, to enjoy the portrait session and know what to expect. I will visit a venue if I haven't been there before, to check out options for the day, including if rain stops play outside! I will go through your wedding day plans so I know what you plan to do, and when, and also help advise couples on the photography timings depending on what they want and what group shots they want to do. On the wedding day itself, I start at the bridal preparations, combining creative detail shots with natural documentary style shots, the ceremony is all documentary style in a non-obtrusive manner. After the ceremony I do a mixture of natural documentary style, group shots, confetti shower and bride & groom portraits. I also do reception venue details, and will typically work through to the bride & grooms's first dance :)
