What is your most memorable wedding?
One of my brides wore a beautiful red dress, she was stunning, and her daughter matched, it was such a lovely touch, the day was quiet and personal.
Describe your style in 5 adjectives.
Querky, fun, creative
What about your business are you most proud of?
I love empowering women in boudoir shoots, they are so much fun and my clients feel a like million dollars!
What is your No. 1 wedding planning tip for couples?
Speak to lots of suppliers, gather lots of information, go to plenty of wedding fayres, then look at everything in slow time, don't feel pressured into booking. Certainly with photographers we are there for a huge part of your day, you need to feel comfortable with who you pick and get along with them.
What is your favourite personal touch you have seen at a wedding?
I love to see the couple's personality in the day, the little favours they choose or make or wedding cakes toppers that depict them.
Describe your typical process with a couple.
So I will generally meet folk for a coffee and a cake (I love cake!), I like to hear about their plans, special details of the day, but I also like to get to know them as a couple, how they met, how the proposal went. Once we have discussed everything they are looking for and what I can offer them, I send out a digital contract for them to read and sign along with an invoice for a deposit. After that we schedule in an engagement shoot (half or full day packages), and then I'm in touch the month before to get more precise times and details of the day. However I'm always at the end of the phone or email for whenever my clients need to speak to me.
What is the No. 1 photo that you think every couple should take?
I love first looks, whether that's with bridesmaids or father of the bride or even the couple themselves, there's always so much emotion right before the ceremony.
What do you recommend for a rainy day wedding?
A brolly and wellies! I will go out in any weather, and I love couples that are happy to do the same.
Describe how you got into photography.
Bit of a cliché, but I've always been into photography, as a little girl I used to take endless pictures of my dogs, my mum would tear her hair out developing film after film of dog pictures! My interest in weddings started at my mum's wedding in 2016, where I loved taking pictures of little details and different angles. I then started taking pictures of my own family, dog agility events, but my love of weddings kept driving me learn more about what was involved. So, course after course, learning, questioning, then finally shooting! I love weddings, it's just such an amazing day! After a couple of years I discovered boudoir, which I am really passionate about, I thoroughly love these sessions and empowering women to feel good about themselves!
