What is your most memorable wedding?
To me, it has to have been my own, sorry folks I know thats being selfish but it was just the best day of my life!
Describe your style in 5 adjectives.
Happy, Friendly, making you feel at ease, creating memories of you for you!
What about your business are you most proud of?
Creating a team of people that love what they do. Making memories, smiles and capturing a part of everyones history!
What is your No. 1 wedding planning tip for couples?
Think about what you want on the day and stick to it!
What is your favourite personal touch you have seen at a wedding?
So many to choose, but the time a groom took in engraving everyones personal name into a lovely piece of wood for the tables was amazing.
Describe your typical process with a couple.
Its always good to meet up before any decisions are made this way, we can all talk about whats important on the day and get to know each others personalities. We would then meet up again before the big day to plan and prepare everything and look at the venues and the favourite ideas of shots. But we always recommend a pre wedding shoot. This is included in our day packages and can be done at our studio with instant viewing of pictures or out on a location.
What is the No. 1 photo that you think every couple should take?
Together, its a special day in a couples life a one off, a day that detail, outfits and accessories have all been carefully planned. Its great to see that all come together. And...if you don't want lots of group shots then an everyone shot is fabulous.
What is the most original photo you’ve been asked to take at a wedding?
A steam roller! The Steam roller was interesting as the venue was at the top of a hill and it made a bit of a dent in the driveway tarmac and not the cleanest for a bride and a white wedding dress!
What do you recommend for a rainy day wedding?
When looking at you venues think what you would do it it was raining all day and you couldn't get outside! Umbrella's are a good accessory to being outside and rainbow colours can really be fun on a wet day. But think where you could go inside the venue and plan for a rainy day. Even in the summer months we tend to have as much if not more rain that the winter months...although obviously its warmer. We have studio lighting though!
Describe how you got into photography.
The influence of people. My dad had been doing Cine movies and taking photographs since we were little. Then one of my first boyfriends gave me my first DSLR camera (film!) at the age of 18. I'd used his a few times and he said I was a natural. It became my hobby, I was the annoying friend who had a camera with her at every opportunity. In my 20's I was lucky to work as a trainer/demonstrator of Adobe & Apple Macs for a London based business, developing a very early Computer Graphics based background. In the early 90's I worked for Scitex one of the founders of the Leaf Camera Back. This was one of the first digital camera backs in the UK. I was lucky to be part of the team that introduced this into commercial businesses in the UK. It was a real eye opener to what we had done using a film process. So lucky to have grown with digital technology since the beginning and so lucky to have been offered redundancy which gave me the financial backing to start up Captcha Photography!
My brothers love photography and videography so you could say...its in my gene pool!
