What is your most memorable wedding?
A wedding I did in Poole a few years ago, was held in the city centre in a beautiful hall. Then the ceremony was down by the beach. Made for some lovely photo's and while I was taking some candid shots, completely by coincidence, the Red Arrows flew right over head, almost as though they had been booked for the day!
Describe your style in 5 adjectives.
Documentary, candid, formal, personable, story-telling
What about your business are you most proud of?
The majority of my clients have come from word of mouth and recommendations from previous work that I have done. That instills confidence and is a testament to my work.
What is your favourite personal touch you have seen at a wedding?
My favourite personal touch so far was a candle and a note on the chair where the grooms late father would of sat. It was a beautiful and poignant gesture that the Bride organised without the Groom knowing
Describe your typical process with a couple.
I will meet clients ahead of time to discuss options, visit the venue(s) for inspiration and to set the creativity in motion and generally just get to know them and understand their requirements.
An engagement shoot is optional and can be done on request at an extra cost to be quoted at time of request.
Available at any time for clients to meet again if needed, share new ideas, advise of any changes and just talk if they have any concerns or questions.
I will spend the big day doing what I do best and will be on hand for any requests outside any previously agreed photos (group/family/friends etc).
Images are taken away and edited. Sneak preview will be shared. All images are provided on a personalised USB drive for the clients to view and show to family and friends. These are your memories, we hold no images back.
Once the images are provided, we will only use them / some of them for portfolio and advertising purposes across various platforms if and when we have the clients consent to do so.
What is the No. 1 photo that you think every couple should take?
The one photo that is needed, is the Groom's first sight of the Bride as she walks down the aisle. This is such a natural photo, but captures the emotion of the day perfectly.
What is the most original photo you’ve been asked to take at a wedding?
Bridesmaids and Bride Blowing confetti into the camera is always nice, but one couple had a guard of honor outside the venue and instead of confetti had sparklers. It was December and so the dusk was coming in which provided the perfect back drop
What do you recommend for a rainy day wedding?
Good interior decor at the venues, fairy lights etc. A nice barn or period building lend the qualities for good atmosphere and photos. Or, failing that, umbrellas with a good backlight can make great photos too.
Describe how you got into photography.
It all started as a hobby with various different subjects taking the spotlight. I took a few casual photos at a wedding once, edited them and posted on social media platforms. The response was amazing as people assumed I had taken up wedding photography. So I started from there, using the positive comments as a step to take it further and never looked back.
