What is your most memorable wedding?
Each wedding is so special to me so this is a hard one to answer but most recently at Laura + Kieran's big day at Danby Castle they forgot the rings!!! Thankfully the registrars didn't have to rush off anywhere so before we all started to take our jewellery off to give to them the father of the bride went on a hunt for them, coming back to a room of applause 15 minutes later!
Describe your style in 5 adjectives.
Fun, colourful, modern, creative, bright!
What about your business are you most proud of?
Growing every year and keeping up with modern trends.
What is your No. 1 wedding planning tip for couples?
Relax!
What is your favourite personal touch you have seen at a wedding?
Table numbers that are a photos of the couple at that age.
Describe your typical process with a couple.
I'd say 80% of my couples now book online following an email conversation and will pencil in a date to meet from there. Saying that I'm more than happy to meet up before booking too if you can make it over to my area and we can find an appointment to suit.
On deciding I'm the photographer for you I send over the paperwork that includes a booking details form and a contract to sign and return back to me online. Once I have these and your £500 deposit I will countersign our contract and pop your booking confirmation in the post. We can then find a date to meet or schedule in a pre shoot if you'd prefer. I don't disappear once you've booked! I'm ALWAYS an email or call away whenever you have any questions at all or just want a chat.
In the months before your wedding I will give you a call to request your final timings and make a plan for myself. I will also request a group shot list from you with all you VIP's on there so I can have it printed off and with me on the day to make sure we work through these extra speedy, allowing you to get back to the party ASAP.
Once your first dance is danced and we've said our goodbye's (for now) I get to work on the magical editing stage.
Your full collection of wedding images are uploaded to an online password protected gallery in 4 weeks. These are downloadable direct from the gallery and can be accessed by your guests if you choose to pass on the password. You have the freedom to print these out and create your own wedding albums yourself or if you'd rather crack on with married life then I'll design you a beautiful, bespoke, handmade album for you to look back through when the wedding blues creep in.
What is the No. 1 photo that you think every couple should take?
A photo of you both together with a wide shot of the landscape around you. I'm a country girl and take my inspiration from the environment around us. OH AND CONFETTI!! No wedding should be without it so bring all the cannons!
What do you recommend for a rainy day wedding?
Hitch your dress up and get out there. You'll never wear it again and you have one shot at your photos. Rainy pics can be some of the most fun and dramatic!
Describe how you got into photography.
I followed my heart into photography at college in 2001. After I graduated in Photography and Design HND in 2003 I was taken on as a Trainee Press Photographer for Johnston Press Ltd based in the North of England which quickly led to a position as Senior Press Photographer. I loved working on the newspapers for well over a decade and all the while shot weddings whenever I wasn't covering a football match! Redundancy was offered in 2014 and I snapped their hands off to pursue my love of all things WEDDINGS!
