What about your business are you most proud of?
That moment years later when a couple reconnect with me to tell me a certain photograph means more to them now that ever. Often due to the passing of a subject. That moments trumps any other feeling and puts worth to all the travelling, time, pressure and such like of running this passion.
What is your No. 1 wedding planning tip for couples?
Do it your way! f**k what others think. A person may be annoyed with your for a week, months, years but time will forgive. You have the rest of your lives to be annoyed with yourselves for not doing it your way.
Describe your typical process with a couple.
Meet, Dance, Drink, Eat, Repeat.
What is the No. 1 photo that you think every couple should take?
The one where they are backflipping off the bar after having tequila poured from a balcony into their mouths!
What do you recommend for a rainy day wedding?
Embrace it. It is the UK we are talking about! chuck your hands in the air and bust a move with the folk who have been desperate to send some quality time with you! To me the weather, dress, how a table looks are not important factors. For me it's about that moment of time you spend with someone. It's enjoying those connections, friendships - life is precious and that moment of connection will be more appreciative as time goes by.
Describe how you got into photography.
I transitioned from film to stills. Ended up working at sea and from there my senior photographer (Jo) got assisting her weddings. we were forced to shoot a very rigid, old school wedding style and my mind exploded so when I left I set up my own wedding business and pushed for a day of greater fun, where the photographer was voyeur and captured the moments as they happened instead of making them.
