Flowtography Weddings

It has to be a wedding last October. It was planned to be an epic festival style day, totally my vibe! But of course it absolutely poured down with rain. Non. Stop! The tractor taking guests to the ceremony got stuck in the mud, the bride lost her engagement ring, the band almost didn't turn up and the cake maker got Covid so couldn't deliver the cake (someone ran to the supermarket and got a Colin the Caterpillar cake!). And it was possibly one of the best days ever! The bride and groom literally didn't stop smiling the whole time, the atmosphere was fantastic and it was such a giggle! It shows that's exactly what weddings should be about, getting married in front of your nearest and dearest and having a damn good time no matter what!

I love that my business is literally me and everything I love. My logo is a one of a kind design that even has one of my dog's faces in it! I don't put on a front; I'm not a formal person. I don't take myself too seriously, I love to giggle, I carry a secret stash of haribo in my camera pouch, I might curse occasionally and make slightly inappropriate comments from time to time. And that is what my business is created around. Because my brand is me! Couples who book me aren't just "clients". They're real people and I love that they want me to be part of their incredible day and that's exactly why I love my photos to be colourful, fun and exciting. A real reflection of your big day. And as cheesey as it sounds, the thing I'm most proud of is when couples tell me they loved having me part of their day and they love their photos. Because your photos are the last thing left for years to come after the day is done and the fact I can do that for you is what I'm most proud of.

Chat to a few different suppliers and pick your favourite based on who you actually like and want to share your day with! Price totally plays a part but pick people who understand you and what you want on such a special day.

There are just so many! One wedding had so many different things all music related because the bride and groom loved their music. From personalised mini vinyl invites and a jukebox card box to having a live band, one of the UK's best saxophonist (who was friends with the couple) and two other singers. Music galore! I absolute love when couples add personal touches to their wedding day and makes the day even more awesome.

When a couple get in touch with me, we usually have a little chat over e-mail then I love meeting up over a coffee and a cheeky slice of cake! It's fab to actually get to know people better, hear all about how you met, the engagement, what you love, how how your wedding plans are going (obvs!) and have a good old natter! Then you decide to book with me I send you a little welcome box full of goodies because we all love a little treat or two! We then catch up about 4 weeks before the big day (mainly so you can remember what I look like and don't just think some random woman has walked in to your wedding on the day!), go over the timings for the day and also do a couple photo shoot (brownie points if you bring your dog!). The photo shoot is a fab way for us to get to know each other better and get used to being in front of the camera. Then on the big day when we come to do your couple photos, you'll feel like a pro and we'll smash through them! They will only take 20 minutes out of your day then you're free to drink prosecco and gobble canapés to your hearts content! All while I shimmy around and capture your day as it happens.

Hands down make sure you take 20 seconds to have a photo with your grandparents. Or any elderly/special people close to your heart. Those are the photos you will cherish always and be thankful you took the time out of your day to take them.

Embrace the rain! Honestly, I know it might feel a bit rubbish if it rains on your wedding day but it's not something you can control. Plus it very rarely ever rains 24/7. We can always nip out in between the showers so you'll still have photos outside. And if it does rain all day... don't panic! I always keep my wellies and umbrellas in the car so even if it rains, we can still go out and get you epic photos. No matter what the weather!

I have always been a bit of a nerd when it comes to photos! I was always that annoying friend on a night out who doesn't stop taking photos. One of my friends then asked me to take some photos of her newborn baby. I loved being able to capture photos of such a special time and I made the decision to start my own business. Then I actually took my dogs for a family photo shoot back in 2012. It wasn't quite the experience I hoped for but it's what helped me shape my business and the things that mean the most to my brand. I am a bit of a walking cliche and I love everything wedding! I just love how you can go to two weddings at the same venue, with the same budget but they will be totally different days. Because you do what means the most to you. So after starting my business I decided that I wanted to venture in to weddings. But photographing weddings is on a whole new level. You don't have time to pose everyone or retake a shot if you miss it. So in 2013 I found a photographer who's work I loved and started off as their assistant to learn about photographing weddings; the pressures, the expectations and the tips and tricks of the trade. I invested in training and workshops to learn everything I needed to rock a wedding. Then when I was ready, I branched out on my own and here I am!
