How I work
The Morning - I start 2 hours before the ceremony - I’m usually less interested in the dress hung up and more interested in the little squeezes of nerves between you and your getting ready gang. And I always make sure I get some shots of the venue and all your hard work you’ve put into decorating it.
Ceremony Time – I choose the best spot at the front and stay there, shooting on two cameras to get different angles and make sure I am absolutely not a distraction to anyone. I’ll move about after to make sure I get that wonderful just married down the aisle shot though!
Drinks & Nibbles – Mostly in the reception I am sleuthing about capturing spontaneous moments, big hugs and lots of smiles. During this time we’ll do some quick family photos and we’ll sneak off to do some couple photos in a pretty spot I scoped out earlier.
Speeches – I mostly focus on the speakers and also reaction shots of your guests laughing / crying / cringing. After the meal I’ll usually have a hunt and find another lovely spot for you to come for a breather together and I can get some candid couple shots of you revelling in how it’s all gone so far.
The Dancing – whether you’re doing a choreographed routine or an awkward shuffle I make sure I get the first dance, and then of course the bit straight after where people flood the dance floor in couples. After this I make sure I am snapping away at all the embarrassing dads moves and providing much blackmail material for the future for you.
After wards couples get an online gallery to share with their families and friends and download from, as well as a slideshow set to music. Before the wedding we meet up for a snap & chat shoot (an engagement shoot by any other name!) get to know each other and break down any scary thoughts you have about your wedding photography.
