FAQs
Find out a bit more from our FAQs

What is your most memorable wedding?

Too difficult to answer that one, every wedding has it's memorable moments.

Describe your style in 5 adjectives.

Emotive, sincere, authentic, organic, fun.

What about your business are you most proud of?

Well I should say my images but I'm going to say it's my dedication to my clients. I do everything I can to ensure that I have provided not only great images but a professional yet personal service.

What is your No. 1 wedding planning tip for couples?

Without a doubt I would advise couples to do it their way, to make sure that they put together the day exactly as they want it to be.

What is your favourite personal touch you have seen at a wedding?

The bouquet and flowers for the day being home grown wild flowers. Absolutely brilliant.

Describe your typical process with a couple.

Before a booking I always recommend meeting (if possible) for a chat over a coffee or two to discuss your wedding plans and to ascertain whether I'm the right photographer for you and whether I can meet your needs. The next step is to complete the booking and secure the date. After that we count down towards the big day. In that time we will meet again for a "engagement session" if that's something we've arranged. Here we can discuss plans a little further and make some beautiful images. Between that point and the wedding day it's a case of ensuring that we have all the plans, fine details and timings in order and we're all ready to get married!! After the wedding I go through a process of hand editing each image individually and typically within 4-6 weeks your final images will be ready for you.

What is the No. 1 photo that you think every couple should take?

That again is very difficult to say as for each couple that will be unique, every wedding is totally unique. I don't set must have shot lists. There may well be crucial shots that the couple have in mind and those details will be discussed in good time.

What do you recommend for a rainy day wedding?

My no.1 recommendation would be to DON'T PANIC. I've never known the rain at a wedding do anything other than add an extra element of fun and more often than not, beautiful light to work with. The rain will not spoil your day. Practically speaking, a couple of umbrellas are standard kit for me and it's always a good idea to have wellies on hand if rain is expected. On top of that, be prepared to switch to plan B and pop out for some portraits when the heavens are felling a little kinder.

Describe how you got into photography.

My path to wedding photography grew out of my love for landscape photography which I had been working in for many years. I was asked to help photograph a wedding with a colleague and it was a real buzz. Once you photograph one wedding you're hooked. From there I went to work as a second shooter for an incredible wedding photographer. That gave me a practical education in wedding photography and for the past few years I've been working alone. I still get that same buzz with every single wedding.
