What is your No. 1 wedding planning tip for couples?
Work coabberatively with each other and your suppliers.
What is your favourite personal touch you have seen at a wedding?
We loved the wedding we photographed on an Easter Sunday where the grooms uncle flew in from America to ordain their ceremony.
Describe your typical process with a couple.
We love to meet up with our couples ideally in person before their big day over a coffee to get to know each other, help our couples feel comfortable around us and discuss their big day in more detail. On the day, we will arrive promptly and be on hand to help assist the bride / groom and their party between taking images. We love to sneak the happy couple away from their guests at least once or twice to give them some time alone to reflect on the day, to take some beautifully romantic image and to capture those more intimate moments. We will stay right up until the first dance, capture some of those funky moves and double check with the couple that they feel we have taken all the images they feel they wanted before congratulating them again and being on our way.
What is the No. 1 photo that you think every couple should take?
Golden hour, just as the sun is setting, these make for incredibly romantic images.
What is the most original photo you’ve been asked to take at a wedding?
Ooh this is hard to choose as we feel each of our couples have had elements to their day that made them unique and original. Our favourite would have to be the couple who had their pet dog deliver the rings attached to their collar. He made the cutest ring bearer!
What do you recommend for a rainy day wedding?
Umbrellas can be incredibly fashionable these days and a quick look on Pinterest will give you lots of ideas. If you really aren't comfortable going out in the rain, we will have already scouted the venue for alternative spots to shoot. We are creative and flexible when it comes to plan A, B and C.
Describe how you got into photography.
As life long friends, photography and videography has always played a part of the time we spent together. We were way ahead of our time, being that Instagram and Tiktok are now incredibly popular. Jodie got her first camera in primary school and always had that passion and creative eye that followed her through her time at University, where she graduated with a First Class Honours Degree. Becci in their friendship was always the model and back up photographer. We loved experimenting with photo and film, uploading them to Jodies old youtube account when youtube first came on the scene and social media was beginning to take off. Since then that same passion and interest along with our solid friendship lead to pursuing a career in this field bringing the same joy we brought to each other to those we meet.
