Hi, I’m Evie, the photographer behind Evie SJ Photography. I’m a Worcestershire-based wedding photographer, capturing relaxed, natural and genuinely emotional photographs for couples who want to remember their wedding day exactly as it felt.
My approach is documentary-inspired, meaning I’m there to capture your day as it naturally unfolds rather than turning it into a series of posed photographs. I’ll gently guide you when you need a little direction, but most of the time I’m looking for the real moments happening around you: the nervous excitement before the ceremony, the way your friends and family react, the hugs, the laughter, the happy tears, the little details you spent months planning, and all those in-between moments you might not even notice on the day.
I know having your photograph taken can feel daunting, especially if you're not used to being in front of a camera. That’s why I keep things relaxed and easy-going. There’s no expectation to know how to pose, and no pressure to spend hours away from your guests. I’ll give you gentle prompts when needed and let the rest happen naturally.

The Everlasting Story – 10 hours of coverage following your story from getting ready through to the dance floor. Perfect for couples who want to remember all the moments, big and small, without missing a thing.
The Timeless Story – Six hours of coverage, from the final getting-ready moments through to your sit-down reception. Ideal for couples who want the heart of their wedding captured without being photographed all day.
The Intimate Story – A shorter option for intimate weddings and celebrations, giving you the chance to have your day documented without committing to full-day coverage.
Whether you’re planning an intimate ceremony, a countryside wedding, a relaxed barn celebration or a full day surrounded by everyone you love, my aim is always the same: to create photographs that feel like you.
I’m based in Worcestershire and regularly photograph weddings across Worcestershire, the West Midlands and the wider UK. I’m also happy to travel further afield for couples who love my style.
Alongside weddings, I also photograph engagements, couples, families and other special moments, so if you’d like to get comfortable in front of my camera before your wedding day, an engagement or couples session can be a lovely way to do that.
For me, wedding photography isn't about creating a perfect version of your day. It’s about preserving the real one: the people, the personalities, the emotions and the little moments that make it yours.

Experience
Will we have to pose for lots of photographs?
Not at all. My approach is natural and documentary-led, so I don't want you spending hours away from your guests having photographs taken. I'll give you gentle direction when it's helpful, particularly during your couple photographs, but most of the day I'll be quietly documenting what's happening around you.
How much time do we need for couple portraits?
Usually two 15 minute sessions throughout the day is plenty. I'll keep things relaxed and natural, with gentle direction rather than lots of posing. If the light is lovely later in the day, we can always sneak away for another few minutes if you would like to.
How do you handle group photographs?
I'll keep them quick, organised and limited to the combinations that matter most to you. We'll agree a list beforehand, so you can get back to enjoying your drinks, guests and celebrations as quickly as possible. If you can designate someone to help find people, it will run much smoother!
What happens if it rains on our wedding day?
We make a plan and go with it! Whether we head indoors, find somewhere covered or embrace the rain, I'll make sure you still get beautiful photographs. And honestly, a little rain can make for some pretty lovely moments.
