What is your most memorable wedding?
That would have to be Jo & Mark's Sedgebrook Hall wedding, where Mark - the groom - organised an unbelievable number of surprises for his fairytale bride during the course of the day. It was incredible!
Describe your style in 5 adjectives.
Relaxed, real, fun, storytelling, emotive
What about your business are you most proud of?
The rapport that I build with my clients, many of whom have become friends waaaay after their wedding day.
What is your No. 1 wedding planning tip for couples?
It's your wedding day so make it what YOU want it to be, not what you think other people want it to be!
What is your favourite personal touch you have seen at a wedding?
From personalised favours to the bride and groom performing as part of the entertainment, everybody puts their own mark on their wedding.
Describe your typical process with a couple.
When I hear from couples, we usually plan to get together for a consultation. If they want to proceed, I'll send them a booking schedule and contract. Once I've received a 25% booking deposit, I'll reserve the date in my diary. 4-6 weeks before the wedding, we'll get together at the venue to catch up and go for a wander. After the day itself, I'll go away, edit the pictures I like and deliver them to couple electronically. From there, they select the images they would like printing, which I then organise. Once I've received them, we'll get together again to hand over the deliverables.
What is the No. 1 photo that you think every couple should take?
I don't think there is a single photo that every couple should take. Every venue is different and every couple is different.
What do you recommend for a rainy day wedding?
I'd usually encourage couples to embrace the weather conditions! Stick some wellies on, grab an umbrella and see what happens! Of course, I'd not force anybody to do that, particularly those with long trains on their dresses!
Describe how you got into photography.
I've owned DSLR cameras since 2004, initially starting out taking pictures of aeroplanes! A number of opportunities arose from that which meant my style needed to develop, and here we are now!
