Emily’s Moments Photography Full Description
How about me and you? Me in a few words: quirky, Belgian-born, over-sharer, hugger, food-lover, Beatles fan, film freak, kitchen dancer, shower singer, over-thinker, long text-er, yin-yang embracer, and forever learning, making mistakes, and learning again. One thing I have learnt for sure though in the last 44 years is that I am at my happiest when I make meaningful connections with people around me, when I learn about them, and what their story can teach me. You in a few more words: You are just as fussed about the process as you are about the outcome. Of anything. More bothered about relationships, than things. You are kind, trusting and life-embracing. You care more about how your images make you feel, how the whole experience of being photographed makes you feel: celebrated, relaxed, safe. Me and You in a few words: we connect, we understand that good collaborations happen when there is a good rapport, and a good rapport happens when we let go. We can let go. You can be you. I can be me. The whole of you: happy, sad, calm, anxious. So whether I photograph your wedding or your family, we don't just make keepsakes together. We create a meaningful experience. Together. I guess I just no longer want "things" on their own anymore. Without a story, without meaning, without humanity. And I am guessing that if you want to work with me, you want those things too?

he made our entire day
Emily was so much more than photographer for us. She helped put our nervous minds at rest before and during the day, she helped organise and plan parts of the day, and she made sure everything ran smoothly for us. That is to say nothing of the incredible photos she captured on the day. We wanted mainly candid shots, with a few posed group shots mixed in and Emily was more than happy to accommodate our requests. She captured the most beautiful shots and made sure everyone was included...

Her eye for detail is incredible
Emily photographed our wedding party in London and was absolutely brilliant. Her eye for detail is incredible, and the photos were gorgeous. We're so happy we can cherish the moments of tenderness and laughter from the night through our photos. Thank you again Emily! X

Emily is a truly remarkable photographer
Emily is a truly remarkable photographer and we are so glad we chose her for our wedding. We requested a candid approach, and she delivered spectacularly, capturing each and every moment from the ceremony to the party. Her personable nature made the experience even more enjoyable. The video she put together is a treasure that I find myself revisiting frequently. If you're after something a bit different and authentic for your wedding photos, we highly recommend Emily!

managed to capture each moment as it unfolded
Emily took photos at our wedding in London. Before our wedding, she took the time to understand us and was really helpful and communicative. On the day, it was like having another friend with us - she brought so much joyful energy while also blending into the background to take photos. I can't thank her enough for making us both feel comfortable in front of the camera, for dancing all night, and for perfectly timing a rainbow. Through her documentary style photography...

the perfect closing image for the day.
Our elopement wedding with our two sons was a magical experience. Emily's sensitive, holistic approach enhanced it and her terrific photos left us with a wonderful record of the day. Emily 'got us' straight away. She was with us through the afternoon, but kept almost invisible, so the photos came naturally - even the posed ones. We had the idea to recreate an iconic Beatles image. Emily used all her photographer's crowd control skills to clear the crossing, leaving us with the perfect...

We can't wait to work with her again!
Working with Emily has been a smooth and effortless experience. She's responsive, flexible, and has captured beautiful photographs from our wedding to the birth of our child. She's expertly captured the emotions during these major milestones and allowed us to be ourselves. In addition, Emily brings a human element both to her photography and to her business. Due to unforeseen circumstances with our wedding, we had to make adjustments at the last minute and Emily has been more than accommodating

FAQs
Find out a bit more from our FAQs

What is your most memorable wedding?

A couple of brides got in touch with me as they had seen my work on Instagram. At consultation, it turned out I had gone to school in Southern Spain with one of the brides.... a complete coincidence. So shooting their wedding was probably the most memorable because I had known the bride for so long.

Describe your style in 5 adjectives.

Calm, sensitive, caring, fun, approachable

What about your business are you most proud of?

That I care about my clients' wellbeing more than anything. I have been praised time and time again for my calm. Brides have even told me in the past it feels like having a close friend with them all day. Weddings are quite stressful days full of rollercoaster emotions. My number 1 priority is to be the source of calm for you, not added stress.

What is your No. 1 wedding planning tip for couples?

Try to never compare yourself to other couples if you can or compete "with the Joneses". At the end of the day, your wedding day will be epic if it is a relaxed day. Your guests will have a great time if YOU have a great time. So I think it is all about minimising stress wherever possible.

What is your favourite personal touch you have seen at a wedding?

The bride's grandmother came all the way from Australia and surprised her during bridal prep.

Describe your typical process with a couple.

The bride/groom gets in touch. We have an in-depth 1 hour consultation about their big day. I then give my couples a week to make a decision before I release the date again. Once booked, I charge a small deposit (£375). A month before the wedding, we have another consultation where we go through the chronology of the day together and anything else they might need from me (and vice versa). I turn up an hour early on the day, spend a while around the venue to make sure I know my way around it and introduce myself to all the staff. I shoot the day. Go home and process sneaky peaks and deliver those within 48 hours of the wedding. Then 6 weeks later, my couple gets their full gallery.

What is the No. 1 photo that you think every couple should take?

I don't think there is one. I think every single couple is different and every wedding is different. No wedding stories I shoot are the same.

What is the most original photo you’ve been asked to take at a wedding?

Of a bride sitting on her wedding cake.

What do you recommend for a rainy day wedding?

Just to enjoy the day. Rain makes photos beautiful because colours pop out better. People have funnier facial expressions in the rain too. At the end of the day, the weather can't be controlled, but how you feel on the day, can. I have done plenty of weddings in the rain, and they are just as beautiful.

Describe how you got into photography.

I picked up my first camera when I was 15. Street photography was primarily my passion hence why I got into reportage style of wedding photography.
