If you're looking for an enthusiastic, professional photographer who really cares about what you want as a couple, then look no further than David Rucker.
We initially met David at The Armathwaite Hall wedding fayre back in November 2016, amongst 10 other photographers. We spoke to everyone but David stuck out for us straight away and we immediately knew our wedding photos were going to be in safe hands. He listened, he wanted to make sure he understood us; as opposed to just telling us what we wanted. We left our details with David, already knowing we had found our man. We were slightly hesitant as we're not particularly comfortable in front of a camera, preferring to be adventuring somewhere in the Lake District mountains. David met this news with real enthusiasm " why didn't we do our photoshoot up Latrigg Fell near Keswick? We met for the photoshoot on a rainy April day in 2017 and could not have felt more at ease. David took some outstanding photos and we were even more confident as we slowly approached our big day. David was not pushy; he wasn't constantly checking in or hassling us, but was at the other end of an email if we needed to ask him anything.
When we got to roughly a month before the wedding, he was in touch suggesting we meet for coffee, just to go over the details and make sure he had everything from us he needed to make sure he captured the day as we wanted it. We spent a lovely hour with him going over everything " which shots we wanted, double checking the style and answering all of our questions. He could not have been more committed to the day and we really felt as though we were his only clients! Little did we expect a phone call from the mother of the bride a week before the wedding, explaining that our photographer had visited her house (the place where the bride and bridesmaids were getting ready the morning of the wedding) to get a feel for locations and plan major shots. She then went on to explain that he'd also been to the church and spoken to the vicar. Talk about commitment! Everything was in place thanks to David's hard work and the fact he could listen to what we wanted.
The big day finally rolled around and David was true to his word " arriving on time and bringing so much positivity and enthusiasm. He suggested pictures but wasn't overly pushy; he took pictures to capture moments as they happened " which is exactly what we'd asked for. For most of the day, we hardly knew he was there; something we had wanted but didn't think would actually be possible. David left us at roughly 9pm, after taking over 600 photos and making sure he stayed to capture the important stuff in the evening. He even made sure he asked us if there was anything else we needed before he left. Little did we expect that the photos would be up on the website (with a very unique password only we would understand!) in less than a week, along with instructions from David on what to do next so we could get the ball rolling with the wedding album (plus a real interest in how our honeymoon " cycling in the French Alps " had been and which mountains we'd conquered!).
Over the next few months, we worked with David over email and our wedding album started to take shape. We received the wedding album and USB stick containing all images a few weeks ago now and we absolutely love them. The wedding album is professional and impressive, and the added bonus of having all 600+ images on a USB stick is a lovely touch; it means we didn't have to choose photos to "get rid of', only those we wanted in the album, and we still have all of the others too.
Overall, we leave David after this crazy wedding process feeling like old friends, not photographer and clients. If you're looking for commitment, crazy enthusiasm, stories and pictures to suit your style " David's your man.
