What is your most memorable wedding?
It is hard to choose just one of the 500 weddings that I have photographed over the past 17 years but if I had to pick just one then it would be The Savoy, London May 2021.
This wedding really had it all and it was exciting to be a part of.
A Greek Wedding ceremony at at gorgeous Greek Orthodox Church in North London followed by a lavish reception for 250 guests at The Savoy Hotel in the heart of London. A great wedding planner kept things on track and I used a trusted second shooter as the bride and groom prep shots were in different locations. The couples first dance in the River Room of the Savoy with the dancefloor circled by the diners tables had the brides father walking around them showering them with money notes.
It was also memorable for a slightly sadder reason. The next morning after I stayed in town, pretty much every single piece of photography equipment I owned was stolen out of a locked car, behind privacy glass in a security patrolled underground car park. Obviously no photographs were lost as I never leave memory cards in the cameras, they are always on my person but I will always remember that Bank Holiday date in May 2021!
The photographs I am really proud of and so many were captured under extreme time pressure.
Describe your style in 5 adjectives.
Dramatic, Natural, Beautiful, Storytelling, Stylish
What about your business are you most proud of?
That I have managed to achieve Three Fellowships in Wedding Photography from the professional photography institutions which is the absolute pinnacle of qualifications possible in the photography industry. It has taken me 17 years and over 500 weddings to achieve this which is why it's so hard to achieve and so few wedding photographers hav achieved this level.
What is your No. 1 wedding planning tip for couples?
Allow 2 hours for the champagne reception (from the time you get back to the venue from a church or from the end of your ceremony for a civil ceremony at the venue) if you want family group photos, couple portraits and time with your guests.
Too often this is cut to an hour or hour and a half and everything then starts to feel rushed.
Planning enough time for the various sections is the best advice I can give to any couple and my couples always thank me for this tip.
What is your favourite personal touch you have seen at a wedding?
Each guest at the wedding breakfast had on their table a small bottle of 'Tuica' handmade by the brides grandma that everyone was encouraged to 'down in one' during the brides fathers speech.
Tuica is one of the most popular alcoholic drinks in Romania, that is mostly sold in farmers markets or made at home. Tuica is considered to be the national drink of Romania. It is a very strong alcoholic drink, sometimes even reaching an alcohol level of 80%. It is made from prunes

What is the No. 1 photo that you think every couple should take?
The bride entering the ceremony with her father/brother/friend/son/mother whoever is giving her away.
There is a split second when the doors open and one looks at the other before looking down the aisle to see the groom (or bride) waiting for them.
As a wedding photographer you need to be ready for it but if you capture it the n it wil transport the bride back to that exact moment, a glance and what was said/whispered to each other.
What is the most original photo you’ve been asked to take at a wedding?
A bride and groom feeding apples to a couple of Highland cattle during their couple portraits!
What do you recommend for a rainy day wedding?
Unless it is biblical horizontal rain and crazy wind, grab a white umbrella and venture out for some couple shots. Some of my biggest awards have been for wedding images captured in the rain. In 20 years time it's the memories you capture that you can enjoy in the warm dry of your home through the joy of your wedding album!
Describe how you got into photography.
I've had a camera in my hand before I was 10 year old, a box brownie with 12 exposures on a roll of 127 film
