Hello and congratulations on your upcoming wedding.
I’m Dash, a professional wedding photographer based in County Durham, working across the North East, North Yorkshire, and throughout the UK. I regularly photograph weddings from Aberdeen to Sussex and am happy to travel wherever your story takes you.
With over 18 years of experience behind the camera since 2008, I now exclusively focus on weddings and elopements. Over that time, I’ve worked at many of the region’s most respected wedding venues, bringing a calm, experienced approach to every celebration I document.
My style is natural, unobtrusive, and story-led. I focus on capturing real moments as they happen—genuine emotion, honest interaction, and the atmosphere of your day—without anything forced or overly posed. The result is a set of images that feel authentic, timeless, and true to you.
I’m known for helping even the most camera-shy couples feel relaxed and comfortable, allowing your day to unfold naturally while I quietly document it as it happens. My aim is always to blend in like a guest, capturing your wedding in a way that feels effortless and unobtrusive.
Alongside photography, I also offer a limited highlight film option, creating a beautifully edited 5–8 minute authentic film that reflects the atmosphere and key moments of your day. Drone photography and video are also available where permitted and weather allows.
Wedding photography is available as part-day, full-day, or fully bespoke coverage tailored to your plans.
If you’re planning your wedding, I’d love to hear more about it. Feel free to arrange a call or video chat, and I can walk you through how I would capture your day in a natural and meaningful way.

Authentic. Timeless. Elegant. Relaxed. Story-driven.
It’s completely normal to feel a bit awkward in front of the camera, most of my couples say the same thing at first! As a relaxed, documentary-style Northeast wedding photographer, my approach is all about keeping things natural and low-pressure. I don’t believe in stiff poses or forced smiles. Instead, I gently guide you when needed and focus on capturing genuine moments, real emotions, and the connection between you.
During our time together, whether it’s on your wedding day or at a pre-wedding shoot, I’ll help you feel comfortable by creating a calm, friendly atmosphere. Most couples are surprised by how quickly they forget the camera is even there! If you're looking for a wedding photographer who understands how to work with camera-shy people and make the experience enjoyable, you’re in the right place.

Choose suppliers you genuinely connect with, not just the ones with the lowest price. Your photographer, videographer and other key suppliers will be with you throughout one of the biggest days of your life. When you trust the people around you, you'll feel more relaxed, be more present, and enjoy every moment. The best weddings aren't about following every trend—they're about creating a day that feels authentically yours.
An outdoor wedding barbecue - the bride & groom served all their guests dinner - it was such a lovely interaction from the couple with all of their guests.
From our first conversation, I take the time to get to know you, your plans, and what's most important for your wedding day. Once you're booked, I'm always available to offer advice, help with timelines, and answer any questions, ensuring everything runs smoothly.
Around a month before the wedding, we'll finalise all the details so you can relax and enjoy the build-up. On the day itself, I work in a calm, unobtrusive way, capturing genuine moments as they naturally unfold while providing gentle guidance when needed.
After your wedding, every image is individually hand-edited, and if you've chosen a photography and film collection, I'll also create your highlight film. The result is a timeless collection of memories you'll treasure for a lifetime.
The one photo every couple should have is a quiet moment together, away from everyone else. It's often the only time you'll have to pause, take it all in, and simply enjoy being newly married. Those few minutes create natural, authentic photographs that capture how the day felt—not just how it looked.
Haha - I have so many unusual requests - recently was asked to photograph a bride in the middle of a shallow river in her wedding dress - not totally out of the ordinary but she was going to her wedding breakfast after photos.
Don't worry about the weather—it often creates some of the most beautiful and atmospheric photographs. I always come prepared with a backup plan, know how to make the most of every venue, and if it's safe to do so, we'll often embrace the rain with umbrellas or find stunning covered locations. The most important thing is to enjoy your day; the best photographs come from genuine moments, whatever the weather.
Photography has been my passion since I was young, but it became my profession in 2008 when I began photographing weddings. I quickly fell in love with the privilege of documenting one of the most important days in a couple's lives. Since then, I've had the honour of capturing hundreds of weddings, refining a relaxed, documentary approach that blends natural storytelling with beautiful, timeless portraits. Even after all these years, I still feel incredibly fortunate to do what I love.
