I’m a wedding photographer based in Hull, working across Yorkshire and the UK, creating natural, story-led wedding photography for couples who want their day documented as it actually feels — not staged or overly directed.
My approach combines unobtrusive documentary coverage with carefully considered, editorial-style portraits when needed. The result is a complete story of your wedding: real emotion, real atmosphere, and strong, timeless imagery without turning your day into a production.
Most of the day is spent working quietly in the background, allowing moments to unfold without interruption. I don’t over-direct or constantly stage scenes, because the strongest images happen when people are simply experiencing their day.
When guidance is needed — group photos, couple portraits, or challenging light — I keep things simple, efficient, and relaxed so you spend more time with your guests and less time in front of the camera.
Many weddings are covered alongside my wife Susan as a second photographer. While I focus on key moments and the overall narrative of the day, she captures the wider story — guest reactions, details, and moments that would otherwise be missed.
This creates a more complete, layered record of your wedding without disrupting the natural flow of the day.
Every collection is built around full-day storytelling, with options to tailor coverage depending on your plans:
I work best with couples who value real moments over staged perfection. If you want a photographer who blends into the day, captures what actually happens, and delivers a body of work that feels honest, natural, and considered rather than heavily directed, we’ll likely be a good fit.
My work is primarily documentary-led, capturing weddings naturally as they unfold, with relaxed, lightly guided portraits when needed to create a balanced story of the day.
Most of the day is unposed. I only step in when needed for group photos or couple portraits, and I keep direction simple so nothing feels forced or staged.
Many weddings include a second photographer, usually my wife Susan. This allows us to cover both the key moments and the wider story of your day at the same time.
Very little. I don’t interrupt moments or stage scenes. Direction is only used when necessary to make sure key photographs are captured efficiently and naturally.
