What is your most memorable wedding?
It's such a tricky question to answer - there have been so many! But I will always remember when I reached my 100th wedding. The day was extra emotional and I drove home that night with my eyes full of happy tears!
Describe your style in 5 adjectives.
Joyful. Heartfelt. Vibrant. Natural. Candid.
What is your No. 1 wedding planning tip for couples?
Throw the wedding rule-book out of the window - it's your special day so make sure you include personal touches that make YOU happy. It's all very well following the expected wedding traditions but if it doesn't fit in with your plans, don't be scared to ditch them and have the day that you truly want.
What is your favourite personal touch you have seen at a wedding?
I'm always intrigued by table names and what these mean to the couple. I also love to see quirky personal touches on the wedding cake - whether it's a unique cake topper or simply having Spiderman climbing up the back of the cake! Trinkets in bouquets, wearing Granny's veil, personalised cufflinks... the list is more or less endless!
Describe your typical process with a couple.
Typically, once an initial enquiry has been made, I like to meet the couple - face to face or via Zoom - so we can make sure we are the right fit. I like to start to get to know my couples as soon as possible to ensure that they feel relaxed being photographed on their big day. Pre-wedding shoots and venue visits offer additional opportunities to chat. In the run-up to the wedding, I am always happy to meet for final consultations if required and am always available via email should they have any questions during their planning journey.
What is the No. 1 photo that you think every couple should take?
Not a specific photo but I would definitely recommend taking a few minutes away from your guests so that you can grab some photos of just the two of you.
What do you recommend for a rainy day wedding?
Have some umbrellas to hand and also ensure you have a Plan B (especially if you are planning a wedding outdoors). Apart from that, just have fun! The weather may prompt a slight change of plan but that doesn't mean you can't still enjoy the company of your closest friends and family! I'm there to document the day and, if that means rain then that's what I document! And if you're happy to venture outside with an umbrella (or not!) for a few snaps then I'm all for it! It often means that you end up with photos that are totally unique!
