Chris Seddon Full Description
Hi, I’m Chris, a wedding photographer based in Derbyshire. If you're movie-buffs, book-lovers, music-junkies, chocaholics, fans of nature, big on travel, or any combination of the above, chances are, we're going to get along and have plenty to talk about. Which is a great start! As you’ll notice from the photos here, my approach to photographing weddings is relaxed and unposed. You might have heard this described as ‘reportage’ or ‘documentary wedding photography’, which means I capture the moments and the stories as they unfold, and you don't have to stand around for hours grinning at the camera. At your wedding, I’m unobtrusive, but not invisible. I won’t just skirt around the edges, I’ll be in amongst your guests, making them feel at ease with the camera and capturing real ‘I was there’ images. The sort of natural wedding photography that when you look back on your pictures in years to come, you’ll remember exactly what it felt like to be there. I’m huge lover of books and a big fan of movies, so the art of telling a story is an important part of how I photograph a wedding. I won’t spend hours setting up shots of your shoes or cuff links. Instead I’ll focus on the people and the genuine moments that all fit together to tell the story of your wedding day.

"It was an absolute pleasure to work with you."
Hi Chris, I had a look at our gallery last night and I just wanted to thank you for such a brilliant job! It was an absolute pleasure to work with you and have you at our wedding, and if we’d marry again we would try our best to make you part of it again … J. All the best to you. Cheers, Torsten.

FAQs

What is your most memorable wedding?

My most memorable wedding of recent years was one which I traveled over to Normandy in France for. I spent the weekend there in a beautiful French village. It was so lovely hanging out with the couple and their guests for a while before and after the wedding.

Describe your style in 5 adjectives.

Natural, relaxed, fun, genuine, timeless

What about your business are you most proud of?

I'm proud of the number of happy memories that me and my camera have captured for people over the years. The great thing about weddings is that there is so much going on as well as the wedding ceremony. Parents playing with their young kids, cousins who haven't seen each other for years, old school friends meeting up again...the list goes on.

What is your No. 1 wedding planning tip for couples?

I'm biased, but booking a wedding photographer who you feel can capture your day in a way that suits you is such an important thing. Your wedding photos will be something that you treasure for the rest of your life.

What is the No. 1 photo that you think every couple should take?

There isn't really one photo that's more important than the others. At least not to me anyway. What's important is that your photos capture what it was like to be present on your wedding day, so that when you look at them in years to come, they take you right back to the moment.
