Fun, helpful, relaxed, timeless, personal
What about your business are you most proud of?
My customer service, the feedback I get from clients is more important to me than anything else
What is your No. 1 wedding planning tip for couples?
Allow enough time for your photos, as you want to have plenty of time to chat to your guests too
What is your favourite personal touch you have seen at a wedding?
Personalised lego figures for each guest given as favours
Describe your typical process with a couple.
Meet up before the wedding at the venue to plan the best places for shots, & discuss which group shots they want. On the day I am typically with the bride for a couple of hours before the ceremony, and then stay until the first few dances. Photos are generally ready to view online within 2 weeks to allow the couple to choose their photos for the album. They then approve my design before it is sent to print. The album & USB containing their photos will be with them a few weeks later.
What is the No. 1 photo that you think every couple should take?
I always ask them that! Often couples have an idea of the photo they are looking for to display on their wall.
What is the most original photo you’ve been asked to take at a wedding?
Bridegroom wearing a Stormtrooper helmet for the first dance
What do you recommend for a rainy day wedding?
Finding somewhere inside which is still lit by natural window light. If rain is forecast I will always take additional lights with me. As I will have looked around the venue before the big day I will already have a plan B up my sleeve!
Describe how you got into photography.
I took photos at a couple of friends weddings I attended as a guest. Camera was on auto, I had no idea what I was doing, but both couples actually preferred my photos to those of the official photographer. Two years later the birth of my first child prompted a change of career, so I went back to college to study photography, attended approximately 25 weddings with another professional photographer to learn on the job & eventually photographed my first wedding on my own! It was terrifying, but I've not looked back since.
