What is your most memorable wedding?
Can I say my own?
I don't think I have a favourite wedding, but my favourite moment is always the vows. My portfolio is definitely ceremony heavy, but I love it.
Describe your style in 5 adjectives.
Natural, Documentary, Unobtrusive, Fun, Relaxed.
What about your business are you most proud of?
This is such a hard question to answer!
I enjoy meeting couples and helping with every aspect of their day. I've been doing this job long enough to know the best timelines, who to recommend in terms of suppliers, and I'm a dab hand at taking out veils and bushelling trains now too!
What is your No. 1 wedding planning tip for couples?
Enjoy it.
It's so easy to get carried away with what lace to have on the edge of a table runner, that it can feel a little overwhelming. If you get to this point, take a step back, think about why you're getting married in the first place, and come back to it another day. The planning process should be enjoyable, not tedious.
What is your favourite personal touch you have seen at a wedding?
There are so many little touches that I love.
Photographs around the bouquet are a favourite of mine, but I think the most unique personal touch I saw was at the bar. One of my couples had a free beer for their guests and named it after themselves - complete with a photograph on the pump of them drinking it.
Describe your typical process with a couple.
It all starts with an initial meeting. We talk through your day, and what you'd like to see from your wedding photography.
If you're happy to book we'll go through contracts and payment arrangements - all the legal stuff.
I'll keep in touch up until the pre-wedding session, a few months before your wedding day. We'll grab some beautiful images of you, and talk about the final details of your day.
On the day I'll be exactly where I said I would be, when I said I would, and capture your wedding in all it's glory.
After the wedding day I'll edit all your images and deliver them to you on your USB and Private Online Gallery. If you've chosen to have an album we'll also go through that process together. All your images will be with you 4-6 weeks after your day.
When your album is ready I'll hand deliver it to you both.
What is the No. 1 photo that you think every couple should take?
I'm going back to the ceremony! I love a 'walking back down the aisle' shot - it's the first walk you'll do together as a married couple.
What is the most original photo you’ve been asked to take at a wedding?
Gosh these are hard!
Maybe not original, but least common. I had a bride who was heavily pregnant on her day, so as part of the couple portraits we did a mini maternity session too.
What do you recommend for a rainy day wedding?
Big brollies, sensible shoes, and a positive attitude.
The first two mean we can go outside in the rain if you'd like, and the last one means it won't ruin your day.
Describe how you got into photography.
I've always loved photographing people, ever since I can remember. Way back in the days of Myspace I was always the friend with a camera in my hand. I took my hobby through to my A levels, and continued with my degree. After university I looked for a photography job that revolved around people - and what better fit than weddings?
