What is your most memorable wedding?
My most memorable wedding was in November 2023, in Cairo. I absolutely LOVED the outdoor garden location, everything was beautiful from the bride getting ready in her lavish decorated hotel room, to the amazing pink floral decorated garden venue. The sun was shining bright and we had so much time to capture the perfect shots before the guests arrived, which I prefer as it takes away from any distractions, and helps the bride and groom feel more relaxed and less awkward with certain poses. We captured the most beautiful shots with natural green backgrounds, and we also captured the most pure moments between the bride and her mother and sister while getting ready.
Describe your style in 5 adjectives.
Relaxed. Candid. Natural. Raw. Lively!
What about your business are you most proud of?
Taking the plunge to start my own business and leaving the corporate legal world.. the only thing I knew from college! The best decision I ever made.
What is your No. 1 wedding planning tip for couples?
By setting clear expectations and goals from the beginning, you can avoid misunderstandings and reduce potential stress throughout the planning process. Make sure you communicate with your other half! I'm always happy to offer tips and advice where I can, even on other things unrelated to photography! I've mentioned a lot of things to my clients before, things they hadn't even considered such as small touches (a bouquet etc) which enhance the day but also enhance the photos.
What is your favourite personal touch you have seen at a wedding?
One client of mine had her late fathers photograph framed and kept near the stage along with the cake. She wanted her father to be part of her special day even after he passed and after her walk in with her brothers she cried, which also made me tear up behind my lens!
Describe your typical process with a couple.
First I'd have a call/teams call with the couple to discuss the itinerary for the day - we go through the plan for the day and I add any tips or advice as a lot of couples think everything will go according to plan by the minute! We discuss possible timeframes for each part of the day. Closer to the day we'd have another call just to confirm everything and discuss any other possible changes. On the day I'll let the couple know when I'm on the way and usually arrive 10-15 minutes earlier just in case and to set up. Then we get on with the beautiful day and get those timeless shots!
What is the No. 1 photo that you think every couple should take?
My favourite shots are the candid ones with a couple laughing naturally together.. I always try to be goofy and make you laugh on the day to get these natural shots so please don't judge me.. I'm being goofy for that reason only!
What is the most original photo you’ve been asked to take at a wedding?
A couple had nose biting as a little private joke between them so I took one with the groom biting the brides nose while they were both dying of laughter.. super cute!
Describe how you got into photography.
I come from a legal background. All I've known since secondary school was law, I graduated with a law degree and worked for various law firms after graduating. I got to a point where I realised law didn't make me happy anymore, and that I wasn't able to help individuals as much as I had hoped to in the corporate world. This was my reason for getting into law in the first place. A few of my friends got married over the past few years, and I used to be the annoying friend that would go up to them to perfect a stray hair in place, or a wonky bow tie, and then I'd run behind the photographer and try and get my own shots on my phone. I got some BEAUTIFUL shots that my friends actually loved so much (some more than the professional photos they'd paid for!) and they started asking me if I considered doing this as a full time profession. I was terrified to do so but the more and more I looked at my work I realised that doing this and being present to get those once in a lifetime shots for people made me so unbelievably happy. I took the plunge and left the world of law to become a photographer full time - and its the BEST thing I ever did!
