What is your most memorable wedding?
My most memorable wedding to date is a fabulous DIY one. It was full of colour and so perfectly 'them'.
The groom and his father had been fixing up an old Jeep for the wedding car, and as a surprise for the bride they had warn bombed it with the most INCREDIBLE decorations. The bride had a bouquet of dried meadow flowers which was stunning and the confetti that matched smelt AMAZING!
After the ceremony the guests all went to their local village hall, while the couple and I went back to theirs for photos with their cats (and his parents dogs!) I am a fully fledged crazy cat/dog lady so I was in absolute heaven.
When we rejoined the guests, the groom donned his waders and jumped in the river for the DUCK RACE! I've never experienced a duck race before then but I am officially hooked. Sadly I didn't win but my duck sits proudly on my desk making sure I don't procrastinate!
Describe your style in 5 adjectives.
Authentic. Emotional. Romantic. Beautiful. Joyful.
What about your business are you most proud of?
I am most proud of building my business whilst being a Mum to two little girls. I hope they grow up knowing that they can shoot for the stars and reach their dreams, because if I can do it, anyone can!
What is your No. 1 wedding planning tip for couples?
Do your wedding, your way.
Don't let others influence your choices because it is a day for you, celebrating you, and all your guests will love it because they love you.
What is your favourite personal touch you have seen at a wedding?
It isn't quite a personal touch, but my favourite thing at weddings currently is the increased popularity of sustainable/environmentally friendly favours - bee bombs, charity pins and planting trees are my absolute faves!
Describe your typical process with a couple.
If possible, I like to meet with couples over a coffee (hot chocolate for me!) as it gives us a chance to get to know each other more. It helps you be more relaxed around me on the day because you've witnessed my quirks (and hopefully love them) already!
A few weeks before the big day I send out a 'Day in Detail' questionnaire where they can put all the important information on, things like important people & photos so that I can fully prepare beforehand.
What is the No. 1 photo that you think every couple should take?
I think every couple should get a photo with parents/ grandparents. On such a fast paced day it's nice to show how much they mean to you by having that little bit of quality time with them, plus, it will mean the world to them! Having a photo to remember that moment is never a bad thing!
What is the most original photo you’ve been asked to take at a wedding?
Drinking out a hip flask, whilst in their wedding dress and laying in a giant bath!
What do you recommend for a rainy day wedding?
Embrace it. Rainy days can be just as beautiful as sunny days and there is nothing we can do about the weather anyway. Don't fret about things you can't control and enjoy the incredible day you are going to have.
Describe how you got into photography.
My Mum has always been a keen photographer and I grew up with her constantly taking pictures. I loved seeing her passion and joy and when I picked up a camera felt the same enthusiasm she showed.
