What is your most memorable wedding?
I think every wedding is memorable for their own reasons but the ones which stand out for me are the ones that are very personal and unique to the couple. I love things that show their individuality and express themselves and their relationship.
Describe your style in 5 adjectives.
Fun, Relaxed, Creative, Personal, Tailored
What about your business are you most proud of?
Our approchable and laid back style which helps to achieve the photos people want on one of the most nervous days of their lives.
What is your No. 1 wedding planning tip for couples?
It is only natural to get stressed and worked up over things. Just do it before your wedding day and know on the day you've done all you can and enjoy it.
What is your favourite personal touch you have seen at a wedding?
I love presents and letters between couples on the morning. They are so personal and meaningful and often contain references which only they know about.
Describe your typical process with a couple.
A lot of our communication these days is done through Facebook. Many check that more than anything and it is more approachable than official emails. In the run up to the wedding we arrange any studio shoots which may be included in your package and send over a form to find out everything about your day. Your plans, what you've booked, what you like, timings etc. We will then arrange when we will see you on the day etc.
What is the No. 1 photo that you think every couple should take?
I think for me its the photos in the run up to your day. So much is done in secret, making favours, meeting with the venue etc. You forget about it all. Take the photos no one else will.
What is the most original photo you’ve been asked to take at a wedding?
Last year, I had a couple who loved a rain photo I had done previously, however their day was beautifully sunny with no chance of rain, so, after speaking with their venue, we arranged to use their hose pipe and created a stunning rain photo just for them.
What do you recommend for a rainy day wedding?
A change of shoes and a drink. You can never predict or control the weather you have to just go with it. Don't waste the day and all your planning by hiding inside. Get a decent pair of shoes (no-one will see them under your dress) and make the most of it. You can get fantastic photos in the rain.
A bride once told me she never had he wedding dress cleaned. She said it was proof that she went and did it! If your not going to wear it again make sure you show it a good time.
Describe how you got into photography.
As a family business, I guess it's always been there for us. It's celebrating peoples most important day with them and it is wonderful to be a part of.
