By Elle is a Manchester based documentary wedding photography business specialising in relaxed, natural wedding photography with an editorial feel.
My approach is calm and unobtrusive, capturing real moments as they happen rather than forcing the day into constant posing. From quiet in between moments to the energy of the dance floor, I focus on genuine emotion, storytelling and authentic memories.
With a background in portrait and street photography, I’m drawn to natural interactions, beautiful light and honest moments that feel true to your day. While documentary coverage is at the heart of my work, I also guide couple and family photos in a relaxed way so nothing ever feels awkward or overly staged.
Wedding coverage is available across Manchester and surrounding areas, with packages starting from £350 for short coverage through to full day weddings.
All weddings include professionally edited high resolution images delivered via a private online gallery for downloading and sharing.

Do you pose couples?
My approach is very relaxed and documentary focused, so I won’t spend your entire day directing or staging moments. I want you to actually experience your wedding, not feel like you’re constantly performing for the camera.
That said, I’ll absolutely guide you when needed, especially during couple portraits or group photos. Nothing awkward or overly posed, just natural direction that helps you feel comfortable.
What is your photography style?
I specialise in relaxed documentary wedding photography with an editorial feel. Most of the day is captured naturally as it unfolds, focusing on real moments, atmosphere and genuine emotion rather than heavily staged images.
My background in documentary and street photography has had a huge influence on how I work and how I observe moments throughout a wedding day.
Do you cover weddings outside Manchester?
Yes, absolutely. I’m based in Manchester but cover weddings across the North West and beyond.
How long does it take to receive our photos?
I always aim to deliver sneak peeks shortly after your wedding, with full galleries typically delivered within a few weeks depending on the season and coverage length.
Every image is carefully edited by me to keep the gallery feeling consistent and true to the atmosphere of your day.
We feel awkward in front of the camera. Can you help?
Most couples tell me this before their wedding, so you definitely won’t be alone.
My approach is designed around helping people feel comfortable rather than turning the day into a photoshoot. I keep things relaxed, natural and low pressure so you can focus on enjoying the day together.
Do you photograph group photos too?
Absolutely. While most of the day is captured naturally, I’m always happy to organise group photos and family portraits if you’d like them.
I usually recommend keeping them relaxed and efficient so you can get back to enjoying the day.
How do we book?
Once you’ve got in touch, I’ll confirm availability and talk through the coverage you’re looking for. A booking fee secures your date in my diary, with the remaining balance due closer to the wedding.
