Becky Payne Full Description
I love hearing all about your details- I have a particular fondness of quirky, rustic, industrial, light and verdant vibes but much more importantly, I love a couple whose cup is half full. I hope that you'll want to work with me and make a little time to go and take some amazing couple shots, whether thats against city walls or mountain roads. Think intimate, romantic, & easy shots that catch your best selves naturally & without any awkwardness I'm always aware of the light, but this is your day so we'll work it out together so it all makes sense so your day is stress-free, fun and runs as smoothly as possible. This is about the two of you and your story as you venture into this wonderful thing called marriage. I'm mad about travelling and love that this is going to be your biggest adventure. I treasure what I do. My images have a modern, creative, film-like quality and I work to make them better every day. I'll always be open to your ideas and want to work with you as a couple and get the absolute best out of your big day. Sometimes that involves me taking a step backwards too, which I'll happily do as well. I intend to capture as much as possible of how your day unfolds as well as all the details you spent months planning. I usually arrive a couple of hours before the ceremony to capture the morning preparations and stay until a couple of songs after your first dance but we will chat through your needs. Afterwards, I go home and craft each image. Not all of them make it, but I hope the ones that do really stand out.

FAQs
Find out a bit more from our FAQs

Describe your style in 5 adjectives.

Fun, modern, film-like, creative and romantic.

What about your business are you most proud of?

The connection I have with my couples.

What is your No. 1 wedding planning tip for couples?

There's nothing lovelier than authenticity. Create a day which represents you both.

What is your favourite personal touch you have seen at a wedding?

Anything outdoorsy, festival inspired or covered in foliage. One wedding encompassed all three when she arrived into the ceremony in a field on a tractor covered in sunflowers.

Describe your typical process with a couple.

Typically we chat, get to know each other a little and if you are happy to book, with or without a consultation, then we secure the date. I will then I will offer to connect with you across different platforms such as Facebook and Pinterest to keep up with your ideas right up until the big day. If you're closer to home, expect coffee dates too and sometimes even a venue visit. Roughly a month before your wedding I'll get in touch as many times as are needed to make sure you guys are sorted and that timings are secure. Then I look forward to watching one of the best days of your life unfold.

What is the No. 1 photo that you think every couple should take?

Sunset portraits, confetti shots, bridal portraits, sparklers exits! I can't name just one. Every day is different and there are always lots of chances to capture amazing shots.

What do you recommend for a rainy day wedding?

an umbrella and a smile!

Describe how you got into photography.

When I was 7 I used to have a cupboard full of broken polaroids that I'd collect from car boot sales. Since then, my camera collection has steadily become more and more functional. I've always been obsessed with being behind the camera- and find the dark room really therapeutic. I studied English at University but afterwards returned to study both illustration and photography and it went from there. I've always been the girl with the camera. I finally went full-time self employed and haven't looked back.
