This is not ‘wedding photography’. It’s relaxed, creative, fun, documentary photography – of your wedding day! – covering big moments, small moments and everything in between. I will well up during the vows, belly laugh with you during the speeches, and be in the thick of it on the dance floor – mixing in like a guest and loving every minute of it. For me the perfect shot isn’t something that’s pristine or straight off of a bridal magazine cover. In fact, it’s anything but. It’s about freezing a moment. A couple giggling through their vows. A hand on a shoulder as a sign of love and support. A kid jumping in a puddle. A grandparent owning the dance floor. Anything that’s genuine and filled with people, life, and soul. Something that evokes emotion, a laugh, or a big bear hug. That, for me, is what makes the perfect photo. I love couples who buck the most ‘official’ or traditional expectations of what a wedding should be, and put together days (or whole weekends!) that are filled with colour, love, and creativity. Whether you’re planning a festival wedding, a farm wedding, a humanist woodland wedding, a highland adventure, or a destination wedding, the natural approach is still the same – capturing you and your favourite people all having a great day. To capture it all, from the getting ready through to the party, is a really privileged thing to do – and I’d be thrilled to be a part of your day.
