Describe your typical process with a couple.
I always meet my clients and have coffee first. I like to get to know them a little, to see them laugh and interact so that I have an idea of who they are. It is important to me to know that they are passionate about their wedding photography. If they share the same passion then I know that we can work well together to produce beautiful images of their day.
What is the No.1 photo that you think every couple should take?
I have no special photograph. All couples are different and so until I get to know them I cannot say.
What is the most original photo you’ve been asked to take at a wedding?
Clients know my style is natural and unobtrusive. Generally, aside from the usual group shots, my clients trust me to work alone with my creativity.
What do you recommend for a rainy day wedding?
Lots of fun umbrella and Wellington shots! I take advantage of the weather!
Describe how you got into photography.
I have always been passionate about black and white portraiture. Photographing my family led others to comment and encourage me to take this passion further.
