Amy Taylor Imaging Photography Full Description
Your wedding photography is such an important part of your day. I would say that of course, but it also happens to be true! I'm a wedding photographer with an eye for those special moments, documenting your day with a natural and understated style. I don't do awkward or tons of group shots and have been merrily shooting weddings for well over a decade. It's my job to be present, to observe, to support when needed, to capture and record but not to make photography the centre of your day. Documenting a wedding in a friendly, approachable way helps everyone relax and get on with the proper business of enjoying your celebrations (and that includes you).

FAQs
Find out a bit more from our FAQs

What is your most memorable wedding?

Oh good grief! How do I pick one?! I had a festival outdoor humanist wedding which was superb: The bride Irish dancing in the sunset, amazing summer weather, a hog roast, music, more dancing and a hand-fasting ceremony on a hilltop overlooking the Malvern Hills. Everything I could possibly wish for.

Describe your style in 5 adjectives.

Subtle Artistic Emotive Fun Candid

What about your business are you most proud of?

That I never get tired of appreciating what an honour it is to be asked to document such a special day. That feeling doesn't get old, and I'm proud of the fact that I'm the person my couples choose.

What is your No. 1 wedding planning tip for couples?

Don't sweat the small stuff. Be in love, let it show and don't forget that this is your party, so plan time to enjoy it as much as your guests.

What is your favourite personal touch you have seen at a wedding?

Oh tons! So much effort and creativity goes into weddings. Possibly my favourite is when one of my brides asked all the guests to send in a scrap of fabric with their RSVPs - she then used these fabrics to make bunting which adorned the beautiful barn they married in. Such a personal and lovely idea.

Describe your typical process with a couple.

We meet wherever possible before the booking, which enables a couple to make their choice with confidence, to see my work in more detail and to go through their own wedding plans. If they have an engagement session (which I recommend) we have a fab time taking photographs, wandering around their chosen location and getting to know each other better. Then there is a meeting before the big day itself to go through details and specifics, such as any particular family group photographs and timings. On the day itself I like to shoot as quietly and unobtrusively as possible, but I'll also help out when I can, chat with the guests, capture those little moments from throughout the day, as well as the BIG ones. It's a storytelling process whereby the photographs will show the feelings and the atmosphere throughout the day - that's where the memories come from.

What is the No. 1 photo that you think every couple should take?

The one that's of YOUR wedding and represents you as a couple - not some Pinterest pic from someone else's wedding to ask your photographer copy or try to replicate.

What is the most original photo you’ve been asked to take at a wedding?

All of them I hope - the wedding itself may often follow a similar pattern, in terms of getting ready, a ceremony, a meal, speeches, dancing... but the personalities and people are all different.

What do you recommend for a rainy day wedding?

Umbrellas, wellies and a good attitude. Rain doesn't have to spoil a wedding at all. Just chill, make sure there is at least somewhere for everyone to be out of the rain and go with it. Puddles are fab, raindrops and dramatic clouds are brilliant - just assume that it might rain, make contingencies and then relax and be thankful when the sun shines

Describe how you got into photography.

I was a designer for quite a few years, with photography being a passion of mine since childhood that I expanded into children and family photography when my own kids were small. One thing led to another when a client asked if I would shoot her wedding - I did and fell instantly in love with photographing weddings. Honestly, I couldn't imagine doing anything else.
