Amy Alford Photography Full Description

Documentary Wedding Photography in Buckinghamshire & Beyond

Wedding photography packages start from £400.

Hi, I’m a documentary wedding photographer based in Holmer Green, near High Wycombe, capturing weddings across Buckinghamshire, Hertfordshire, Surrey, Berkshire, Oxfordshire, Bedfordshire, Northamptonshire, Kent and London.

For me, weddings aren’t about stiff poses or spending hours away from your guests. They’re about the people you love, the excitement before the ceremony, the hugs, the happy tears and the moments you don’t even realise are happening until you look back at them years later.

That’s what I love to capture.

I take a relaxed, unobtrusive approach, blending into the background so you can enjoy your day while I document it as it naturally unfolds. The result is a collection of honest, timeless photographs that remind you not just what your wedding looked like, but exactly how it felt.

When it comes to couple portraits, I’ll give you just enough guidance to help you feel comfortable, but nothing will ever feel forced or overly posed. I want your photographs to feel like you.

Wedding Photographer Covering Bucks, Herts, Surrey, Berkshire & Beyond

I photograph weddings throughout Buckinghamshire, Hertfordshire, Surrey, Berkshire, Oxfordshire, Bedfordshire, Northamptonshire, Kent and London, and I’m also available for weddings across the UK.

Whether you’re planning a countryside barn wedding, a stylish city celebration, an intimate registry office ceremony or a relaxed family gathering, my approach stays the same: natural, documentary photography focused on genuine moments and real connections.

FAQs
Find out a bit more from our FAQs

What area do you cover and do you travel

We're based in Buckinghamshire and cover the surrounding areas like, London, Berkshire, Oxfordshire, Hertfordshire, Surrey and beyond.

if you are getting married somewhere outside these areas, just ask!

How do I book?

It's nice and easy! Just drop us a message with your wedding date and a few details, and we'll get back to you with availability. If we're free, we'll guide you through the next steps and secure your date with a booking fee.

Is there a booking fee?

Yes, we take a small booking fee to secure your date in our diary and that is 25% of the package that you opt for. This comes off your final balance, and the remaining amount is due 30 days prior to your wedding date.

How far in advance do we need to book?

As soon as you can! I currently take on a limited amount of weddings each year so popular days (especially weekends in peak wedding season) can get snapped up pretty quickly, so we'd always recommend booking early to avoid missing out. That said, if your date is coming up soon, still drop us a message - we might just have availability!

How long will it take to get our photo's

We know you'll be excited to see them! We offer a sneak peak which is approx. 10 images of your day within two days of your wedding. These can be shared in the meantime whilst your wait. You'll usually receive your full gallery approx. 4-6 weeks. We always make sure that every image is carefully edited, so its worth the wait.

Are you insured?

Absolutely, I have public liability and professional indemnity insurance. You can relax knowing everything's covered on the day. If your venue needs proof of insurance, just let us now and we will be happy to provide it.

Can we meet you before booking?

Of course! It's really important you feel comfortable with us, so we're always happy to chat before you book. We can arrange a relaxed call over Zoom or meet up for a coffee if you're within an hour of High Wycombe - whatever works best for you.

Do you carry back up equipment?

Absolutely! We always come fully prepared with backup equipment, just in case. From spare cameras to extra batteries and memory cards, we make sure everything runs smoothly so you can enjoy your day without worry.

We hate having our photograph taken. Can you help?

Absolutely! You are definitely not alone. Even I hate having my photo taken.

Most people aren't used to having a camera pointed at them, and you don't need to know what to do. I'll give you simple, natural direction when you need it and keep things relaxed.

The aim isn't to make you pose like models - it's tpo help you feel comfortable enough to forget about the camera and as if I wasn't there,

How much time will we spend taking photographs?

As little as possible.

I'll make sure we capture the photographs you'll want, including family groups and beautiful potriats of the two of you, but I don't believe your wedding day should revolve around photography.

I'd much rather give you a little direction, capture what we need and get you back to your guests.
