What is your most memorable wedding?
Last summer, on the banks of Loch Lomond, an older couple, both in their 50's proclaimed their love for each other. There was only the couple, the humanist and a two witnesses provided by the hotel. Despite the whirlwind that often surrounds a wedding its easy to forget that at then end of the day it should always just be about two people making that commitment to each other.

With whirlwind of events and emotion that often surround a wedding its easy to forget that at the end of the day it should always just be about two people making a binding, loving commitment to each other. Everything else is just show.
Except the photography obviously. You always need photography ……
What about your business are you most proud of?
Longevity and my wonderful customers. My testimonials give me a great amount of satisfaction but not as much as knowing that so many of my friends started out as my clients.
What is your No. 1 wedding planning tip for couples?
Ok, this is a bit of a crazy one but ..... work your day out backwards. What time to you want to have your first dance? then work backwards from there to arrive a the ideal time for your ceremony.
What is your favourite personal touch you have seen at a wedding?
Numbering the tables 1-12 but instead of names the tables had pictures of the bride and groom at the appropriate age. For example. table 1 was the a photo of the bride and groom aged one year old...... age 2 at table 2 and so on....
Describe your typical process with a couple.
Its so relaxed and easy. Its all done as we are chatting away you will hardly notice. You'll love it !
What is the No. 1 photo that you think every couple should take?
The mantlepiece shot. That picture of the two of you standing together looking into the lens and smiling. For all the fancy tricks, lens, effects and processing available, nothing tops a beautiful shot of a couple happy on their wedding day. Its a dull answer but its the photo you will come back to over and over again as the years go by.
What is the most original photo you’ve been asked to take at a wedding?
I once was asked to arrived early to photograph the brides family verses the grooms family "5 aside" football match
What do you recommend for a rainy day wedding?
Well, since we are based in Scotland, if there is one thing we are well drilled in, its a wet wedding. We have loads of tips but the key is to always have a Plan B for the pictures. This is why we always meet our clients at the venue before the wedding. That way, even if the weather
Describe how you got into photography.
Old fashioned apprenticeship. From school I learned the very basics of film and print processing through to running my own lab. At the same time at weekends I carried the photographers case and steadily progressed up through the ranks to shooting my first wedding at 20
