This is my alter ego – like a superhero disguise. By day I’m a mild-mannered husband and father of a lovely family with 3 children. The Piano Guy is one of the services offered by Live Piano Ltd, The company was set up together with my wife, Liz Hendry Wedding Pianist in 2013 just after our own wedding. I have been a professional musician since graduating from the University of North Wales, Bangor in 2000. My first job, straight out of uni was touring with the awesome Broadway musical RENT throughout UK theatres culminating in a West End residency at the Prince of Wales Theatre, London. After this, I played in various function bands at UK holiday parks. In 2002 I participated in, and won the international “crazy pianos” competition in Scheveningen, The Hague, Netherlands. From this I secured contracts in Norway where i have held regular residencies for 20 years. Live Piano Ltd was set up to create an industry for working more in the UK and 10 years later we have have played at approaching 2000 weddings. As well as being the piano guy, I also lead PianoJam. An awesome live show – based around my energy and repertoire – with all the power of a live band but the versatility of being “Live By Request”. I get to play with some awesome drummers, and other fantastic piano entertainers (for the duelling piano show). We have appeared at some prestigious events including at London Savoy for Dell’s charity gala, opening for Rick Astley at Manchester central (GMEX) a fantastic residency in Manchester Xmas markets and at the annual British nudist festival in Somerset. Outside of this busy career I enjoy playing guitar (especially van Halen and I collect Eddie van Halen guitars) bass and drums. I love playing anything funky or heavy rock/metal. [...]
