What is your most memorable wedding?
We love all of the weddings we play at ! For us, memorable moments come when guests really love our music and come and make requests of us as we are playing. We love the unexpected! Seeing people get really excited because we have played AC/DC in a style they never expected, for example. We also love it when our music contributes to an emotional moment in a wedding ceremony.
Describe your style in 5 adjectives.
Fun, classy, elegant, pop, classical
What about your business are you most proud of?
We've been playing at weddings together for over 15 years and have arranged much of our music ourselves, which we have now amassed into a massive repertoire list. We are proud of how many people and places we have seen. We are also proud that we have been playing our pop renditions for string quartet LONG before Bridgerton was even a thing :-) We are loving how many people are coming to us to recreate the Bridgerton vibe.
What is your No. 1 wedding planning tip for couples?
Choose the best suppliers early as there are limited dates for weddings. Particularly if you are having a summer wedding on a Saturday
What is your favourite personal touch you have seen at a wedding?
Being musical we do enjoy it when people bring their own musicality into the wedding. For example, this Saturday we are playing Green Day Time Of Your Life and we are being joined by a friend of the couple on guitar and vocals. This will be such a memorable moment for them all and we are delighted to be a part of it.
Describe your typical process with a couple.
Get in touch with us to see if we are available on your date. If we are, then we simply take a deposit to secure the date (we are yours) and then you'll complete a form with your timings and musical requests. It's super easy!
What makes a romantic first dance?
You may not think the string quartet often stick around for the first dance, but indeed we have actually been asked to play for the couple's first dance a few times. This works really well as a chilled dance - anything goes!
What is your number one floor-filler?
For us, it's definitely Mr Brightside. We have played this at numerous beer festivals and it always gets everyone singing at the top of their voices!
What is the soundtrack to your life?
Any pop tune played by a string quartet - always thinking of ways to arrange popular music so that it sounds cool, funky and unique !
