The Akina String Quartet

The Akina String quartet was established in 2010 by four versatile young musicians who brought with them many years of experience performing at high profile events with other professional groups in the UK and beyond. The ensemble quickly established a reputation for providing exquisite music and the ensemble has now expanded and is built on a core body of professional players all of whom have studied at top Conservatoires. The Akina String Quartet are highly adaptable and are equally comfortable performing for Royalty, entertaining guests at corporate events, providing the perfect background music for Weddings and other ceremonies as well as performing recitals and delivering engaging education projects to schools. Highlights of Akina String Quartet’s booking history include ; ​ Entertaining George and Amal Clooney at the UK celebration of their marriage at Danesfield House Hotel and Spa Performing at Frogmore House for the Duke of Edinburgh's Award alongside Katie Melua. Guests included HRH Prince Edward. A two year residency at the Royal Henley Regatta performing for invited guests on the exclusive Temple Island A concert performance with composer Patrick Hawes, former Royal Harpist Claire Jones, soprano Elin Manahan Thomas and Aliquando Choir Concert performance in Blackmoor, Hampshire to celebrate the upcoming tercentenary of pioneering naturalist Gilbert White's birth. The performance was a world premiere of a Phil Andrews work entitled 'A purer air: A musical portrait of Gilbert White'
