Will setting up your equipment disrupt the evening reception?
Not at all.
I use a premium, highly streamlined audio and lighting system that is designed for efficiency.
Venue turnarounds can be a chaotic part of the day, but my setup process is fast, discreet, and highly organised.
I work seamlessly alongside the venue staff to ensure the equipment is built, sound checked, and ready to go without causing any delays to your evening timeline or killing the momentum of the day.
How do you handle the transition from the first dance to the main party?
This is one of the most crucial moments of the night.
I never just let the first dance awkwardly fade out into silence while people figure out what to do.
I work with you beforehand to pick a high energy 'second track'. Just as your first dance reaches its peak or comes to the end, I seamlessly mix into that second anthem and invite your bridal party and guests to join you.
It completely removes that awkward, empty floor phase and ensures the party starts with massive momentum right from minute one.
Do you only DJ the evening party, or can you provide music earlier in the day?
I can absolutely cover the whole day.
Many couples book me to provide the music for their drinks reception or wedding breakfast.
Because I use state of the art, portable audio equipment, I can easily set up a sleek, wireless speaker system for your afternoon drinks, even if it’s outside on the venue's lawns.
It maintains a brilliant atmosphere throughout the afternoon before we shift gears for the main evening party.
What makes your mixing style different from a standard wedding DJ?
I don't just fade one song into the next. I use modern live mixing technology to isolate vocals, drums, and instruments on the fly.
This means I can take the vocal from an old school classic and mix it seamlessly over a modern dance beat, creating unique mashups right there in the room.
It keeps the energy incredibly high, bridges the gap between different genres, and ensures there are no awkward silences or clunky transitions between tracks.
How do you handle a mixed crowd of different ages and tastes?
It’s all about reading the room and mixing dynamically.
At a typical wedding, you have guests ranging from 18 to 80, with completely different tastes.
Because I mix tracks seamlessly, I can jump through decades and genres quickly without losing the vibe.
I might drop a classic 80s anthem for the older crowd, but layer it with a heavier bassline so the younger guests stay on the floor.
It’s about finding the common ground so everyone feels included.
Do you take requests from guests on the night?
Absolutely, but with a professional filter.
I always encourage guests to ask for their favourite tracks, but my job is to make sure those requests actually keep the dancefloor moving.
If someone asks for a massive floor filler, I’ll mix it in seamlessly. If someone asks for something that I know will clear the floor, I’ll politely decline or save it for the very end of the night.

We have a mix of local guests and people travelling from further afield, how do you handle the music?
This is where experience is everything.
Playing across South Wales, I am incredibly used to reading diverse crowds.
You might have a heavily local crowd who love certain anthems, mixed with guests travelling from over the bridge or even further afield who want something completely different.
Because I mix live, I don't just stick to one rigid genre. I blend different styles seamlessly, constantly testing the water and finding the perfect middle ground so that everyone, regardless of where they’ve travelled from, ends up on the dancefloor.
Will your setup look messy in our wedding photos?
Not at all.
Gone are the days of the stereotypical DJ hiding behind massive, ugly black boxes covered in messy wires.

Do you use a microphone, and will you be talking on it all night?
I use the microphone exactly as much as is needed, and not a word more.
I am very happy to make your announcements, introduce your first dance, and hype up the crowd for the final song of the night with complete professionalism.
What I won't do is talk over the music, tell bad jokes, or try to make the night about me. I let the music do the talking.
