What is your most memorable wedding?
Every couple who have booked me to perform have been wonderful people who’s special days I will always look back on fondly. But my most memorable wedding would have to be when I performed at a DIY barn dance themed wedding held on a working cattle farm. The stage was a small trailer loaded with straw bales and the barn which had housed cattle just weeks before had been completely transformed with hundreds and thousands of fairy lights and decorations! The weather was absolutely glorious, in the peak of summer, so we decided at the last minute to move the stage outside and we partied and danced on the grass until long after the sun went down. Since then, I have always been happy to accommodate last minute changes to the schedule. As the fondest memories are often born out of spontaneity.

What is your No. 1 wedding planning tip for couples?
Wedding planning can be incredibly stressful and overwhelming. But if you find yourself on the verge of breakdown because you can’t decide on whether to have the deluxe doughnut wall or the eight-foot macaroon tower, take a step back and remind yourself what your wedding is really about – you marrying the love of your life and being in the company of the people who mean the most to you… Oh, and good music of course!
What is your favourite personal touch you have seen at a wedding?
I always love a creative and performative best-man’s speech.
Describe your typical process with a couple.
I like to lay out all my performance options and optional extras in clear writing for all enquiring couples so that they have all the information they need. I’m always happy to chat over the phone or via zoom if couples prefer it over email. As standard I will write up a performance contract so we both have an agreement in writing. During the run-up to the wedding I like to send couples an audio recording of their special song requests so that they can practise their first dance in the kitchen or just listen whilst enjoying a glass of wine to get excited ahead of the big day.
