What is your most memorable wedding?
Last summer we played at a fantastic wedding in Portugal, it was great to have a band trip away but it was also a really fun wedding! We found out the next morning that the bride and her family knew and grew up just around the corner from one of our band members which made it all the more special!
Describe your style in 5 adjectives.
Young, Energetic, Professional, Funky, Tartan
What about your business are you most proud of?
Having built it up from humble beginnings into the busiest ceilidh band around and winning the 2014 Wedding Industry Awards 'Best Live Act in London & the South East'!
What is your No. 1 wedding planning tip for couples?
Almost 100% of brides say they wished they had spent more of their budget on their entertainment! It's the focal point of your whole evening reception and is one of the main things your guests will remember from years to come - how good the band was and how good the party was!
What is your favourite personal touch you have seen at a wedding?
We love it when a couple uses photos of themselves as part of the decorations, it's a great personal touch and for a band who don't know the couple personally it really helps us to get an idea of what the couple are like and gives us an insight into their lives!
What makes a romantic first dance?
We believe that some of the most romantic first dances are the simple ones. You don't have to do anything fancy, a simple slow dance can sometimes be more powerful than anything too complex. Then you can really show your guests how you feel about each other instead of being distracted by remembering a routine!
What is your number one floor-filler?
As a traditional Scottish Ceilidh Band i'd have to say 'Strip the Willow' - we usually finish off the night with this dance before an Auld Lang Syne and it's sure to get everyone on their feet for a last knees up!
