What is your most memorable wedding?
My most memorable wedding was a Christmas Wedding in the Lake District. The celebration had been cancelled a number of times due to Covid therefore when the big day finally took place it was incredibly special. I played for the ceremony and then for a couple of hours before the wedding breakfast. The ceremony was so magical and the love in the room was like no other! I always have to hold back some tears when watching the Bride come down the aisle, however after doing it for so long, I've gotten pretty good at it, however I really had to try on this occasion! It was a pleasure to be part of such a special day.
Describe your style in 5 adjectives.
Acoustic, Unique, Memorable, Relaxing and Warm!
What about your business are you most proud of?
It makes me incredibly happy to know that so many of my bookings come from recommendations from previous clients!
What is your No. 1 wedding planning tip for couples?
ENJOY IT! It is so easy for couples to get wrapped up in the planning and the endless to do lists that come with weddings and forget to relax and cherish this time. I think it is so important to find time to enjoy the process- such as your venue viewings, listening to your chosen musicians before the big day, seeing your flowers for the first time and so much more!
What is your favourite personal touch you have seen at a wedding?
I once sang at a wedding for a couple who loved to travel the world. On one of the entrance tables their was a post box with some small cards and guests could write a personalised message that had to include a chosen destination they recommended for the couple to travel to. Such a lovely idea!
Describe your typical process with a couple.
When a couple decide to go ahead with the booking I will send over the contract, invoice and deposit information so they can secure their date. Dependant on the time scale from then up until their wedding, we will put a plan in place! A lot of couples like to keep updated with my event diary and they can choose to attend any of my public gigs! If the couple have chosen a ceremony package then we will arrange a date for an in person or zoom meeting around 2 months prior to the big day. At this meeting the couple will have chance to listen to their chosen aisle song, signing off the register songs and exit song. We can make any changes to the length or sometimes couples like to change certain words too. It's also a chance for the couple to get to know me a little better over a cuppa before the big day and clarify any 'NO GO' songs or artists to avoid!
What is your number one floor-filler?
Bruce Springsteen every time!
What is the soundtrack to your life?
The most difficult question.... but it would have to be 'The Story- Brandi Carlile'
