Born in Neath, Joseph is currently studying on the Vocal and Opera course at the Royal Welsh
College of Music and Drama under the tuition of renowned Tenor, Adrian Thompson.
The Inaugural Welsh Association of Male Choirs Layton Watkins Accompanist Award Winner, Joseph will make his debut at the Royal Albert Hall later in 2018, accompanying part of the Massed Festival of Male Choirs.
Alongside his studies, Joseph is a former double Organ and Choral Scholar at The Metropolitan Cathedral of St David, Cardiff and now sings on the Back Row as a Tenor with the choir of Llandaff Cathedral. As Organ Scholar, he accompanied the choir for all the main Cathedral events, highlights of which included a performance for HRH the Prince of Wales in December 2016, a live broadcast on BBC Radio 4 to an estimated audience of 1.5 million, a performance in the historic Gonville and Caius College Chapel, Cambridge and playing the part of Judas in Llandaff Choral Societies’ Performance of Bach St Matthew Passion. Joseph was also the Choral Scholar at Nazareth House Chapel, Cardiff and is currently a Choral Scholar with the BBC National Chorus of Wales, where he has performed works including; Handel’s Messiah, Daphnis and Chloe (Ravel), Belshazzar’s Feast (Walton), Bruckner’s Four Motets and Bach St John’s Passion. At the start of 2017, he was appointed Principal Accompanist of Cardiff Arms Park Male Voice Choir, Accompanist for the Welsh Musical Theatre Orchestra, Cor Caerdydd and was a Semi-finalist in the Kathleen Ferrier Bursary Award, a prestigious competition for young singers. He was also honoured to be selected as the official page-turner for the Cardiff Singer of the World Song Prize Final 2017.
