Jon and The Medics are a five-piece live covers band bringing energetic, crowd-pleasing music to weddings, parties, pubs, corporate events, festivals and private functions across the UK.
We specialise in feel-good live entertainment that keeps the atmosphere relaxed, upbeat and properly alive. Our sets are built around songs people know, love and want to dance to, from singalong favourites to party classics, with the flexibility to shape the night around the crowd in front of us.
The band is made up of experienced musicians with a mixture of professional, creative and medical backgrounds, which is where the name comes from. Jon is not a medic, because apparently that would have made far too much sense, but the rest of the band bring enough medical experience to keep the name honest. More importantly, we bring a calm, reliable and professional approach to every booking, from first enquiry to the final song.
For weddings, we know the music needs to do more than fill a gap in the evening. It helps set the mood, bring guests together and turn the reception into the kind of celebration people remember for the right reasons. Whether you want your guests singing along, dancing from the first set, or easing into the evening before the party fully kicks off, we work with you to create the right feel for your day.

What kind of music do you play?
We play energetic live covers designed to keep the party moving, with crowd favourites, singalong classics and dancefloor-friendly songs across different eras and styles. Our sets are built around music people know, love and actually want to dance to. Some songs come as they are, some have that Jon and The Medics twist to them!
Can we choose songs for the setlist?
Yes, of course! It is your day and you are in charge. We are happy to chat through the kind of music you love and the atmosphere you want for the evening. We’ll always use our experience to shape the set so it flows well and keeps the dancefloor alive, but your taste absolutely matters.
Can you perform our first dance?
Yes, depending on the song and arrangement, we can discuss performing your first dance live. We are open to playing this song as a full band, partial band or even acoustic if that's more where your tastes lie.
How long do you usually play for?
A typical evening booking includes 2 x 1 hour live sets, with a break in between. We can discuss different timings depending on your venue, schedule and the shape of your day.
We are capable of playing for the 2 hours with no break, but anything longer than that will require a break.
Do you provide your own PA and equipment?
Yes, we provide our own band equipment and can include a PA setup suitable for many wedding and event spaces. We’ll confirm the practical details with you and the venue in advance so setup is smooth, boring and professional, which is exactly how logistics should be.
Do you provide music between sets?
Yes, we can provide background playlist music between our live sets so there’s no awkward silence while we take a break. Nobody needs the sound of Uncle Bob drunkenly explaining dodgy politics over an empty dancefloor.
How much space do you need?
As a five-piece band, we need enough space for drums, guitars, keys, vocals and safe access to power. The exact space depends on the venue layout, but we’re happy to liaise with you or your venue to make sure everything fits comfortably.
How far do you travel?
We’re available for weddings and events across the UK, subject to availability and travel arrangements. Travel costs may vary depending on location, timings and whether an overnight stay is needed.
How far in advance should we book?
As early as possible, especially for popular wedding dates, summer weekends and bank holidays. Once your date, venue and timings are confirmed, it’s worth getting your band booked before someone else nabs the date.
How do we book Jon and The Medics?
Send us your wedding date, venue/location, approximate timings and what kind of evening you’re hoping for. We’ll come back with availability, pricing and any details we need to tailor the booking to your day. Once everything is agreed, we’ll confirm the booking in writing and ask for a deposit.
