Jo Jaleel Weddings & Events provides warm, vintage-inspired live music for weddings, private celebrations and corporate events across Manchester, Lancashire, Cheshire, Liverpool and the wider North West.
Combining soulful vocals, acoustic guitar and carefully arranged backing textures, Jo reimagines familiar songs with a distinctive acoustic-soul sound. The repertoire spans soul, Motown, pop, indie, rock and timeless classics, allowing each performance to be shaped around the atmosphere of the day.
Wedding ceremony music can include:

Drinks reception performances provide a relaxed live soundtrack while guests mingle, take photographs and celebrate. Sets can remain warm and understated or gradually become more upbeat, depending on the atmosphere you would like to create.
Evening celebration packages feature recognisable singalongs, soulful favourites and upbeat party songs, with professional PA, lighting and music between live sets included. A live first-dance performance can also be arranged.
Full-day packages are available for couples who would like live music across several parts of their wedding, from the ceremony through to the evening reception. Bespoke combinations can also be created around the timings, venue and flow of the day.

What makes your wedding performances different?
Jo combines soulful live vocals and acoustic guitar with warm, vintage-inspired arrangements of familiar songs. Rather than simply reproducing the originals, each song is shaped to suit the moment—whether that means an intimate aisle entrance, relaxed drinks reception or an upbeat evening celebration.
Which parts of the wedding day can you perform at?
Live music is available for the ceremony, drinks reception, wedding breakfast and evening celebration. Jo can perform for one part of the day or create a bespoke package covering several moments, including the aisle entrance, signing of the register, first dance and evening sets.
Can we choose songs from your repertoire?
Absolutely. You can highlight particular favourites from the repertoire, while Jo will shape the remaining set around your guests, timings and preferred atmosphere. This allows the music to feel personal while still creating a natural flow throughout the performance.
Can you learn a special song for our wedding?
Yes. Special requests can be arranged for moments such as the aisle entrance, ceremony exit or first dance. Bridebook couples receive one complimentary special song request with their package. Any additional new arrangements can be discussed and quoted before booking.
Do you provide your own sound equipment?
Yes. Jo provides a professional PA system, microphone and all equipment required for the performance. Suitable lighting can also be included for evening packages, and background playlists can be played through the PA between live sets.
Can you provide music between your live sets?
Yes. A carefully selected playlist can be played through the PA before and between performances, helping the atmosphere continue without an awkward silence. This is background playlist coverage rather than a full hosted DJ service.
How much time do you need to set up?
Approximately one hour is normally allowed for arrival, setup and soundcheck. This can vary slightly depending on the venue, package and access arrangements. Jo will coordinate timings in advance and aim to complete setup discreetly without disrupting your guests.
What happens if our wedding timings change?
Small changes are rarely a problem. Wedding days do not always run exactly to schedule, so Jo allows reasonable flexibility around the agreed performance times. Simply keep him updated and he will work with the venue and other suppliers to help everything run smoothly.
Can you perform outdoors?
Yes, provided there is safe shelter from rain, direct sunlight and extreme temperatures, along with a secure electricity supply where amplification is required. A suitable indoor alternative should also be available in case the weather changes.
How does the booking process work?
Once your date, venue and preferred package have been confirmed, you will receive a written booking agreement and details of the booking payment required to secure the date. Jo will then stay in contact to discuss timings, song choices and the atmosphere you would like for each part of the day.
