Award winning harpist, Jess Hughes graduated from the Royal Northern College of Music with a First Class ‘Bachelor of Music with Honours’ degree in 2022. She is now continuing at the RNCM, studying with Anne-Marie O’Farrell, for a ‘Masters in Music’. Her first year of study was generously supported by the Waverly Fund and prior to that Jess was awarded a scholarship to attend Wells Cathedral School, where she studied harp with Ruth Faber.
As both soloist and orchestral player, Jess has performed in many inspiring venues, including the Bridgewater Hall, Salford Cathedral, Glastonbury Abbey, Wells Cathedral and Bath Pump Rooms – as well as on numerous occasions in the RNCM concert hall.
Former King Singer, Nigel Perrin invited Jess to perform as visiting soloist for his Bath Bach Choir’s annual Christmas concert in the Pump Rooms in Bath. She has also performed a variety of solo recitals, including at Stogumber Festival and Castle Park Arts Centre in Frodsham and she has provided beautiful background music for various weddings, parties, private and corporate functions.
With many years of performance experience, Jess has a wide variety of repertoire that will provide something for everyone to enjoy. She can perform the music of many different genres, including classical, pop, jazz, contemporary, folk, religious and traditional.
