What is your most memorable wedding?
So many of them are so memorable, but one I played in Ronda, Spain this year was incredibly special. Every single aspect went as well as it could have done; the beautiful bride ended at the top of the aisle at the exact right note, the weather was incredible, the guests were so kind, the scenery was incredible & my music went down incredibly well. They were so kind to me and my partner and it is a weekend I will never ever forget.
Describe your style in 5 adjectives.
Easy listening, Chilled, Soulful, Atmospheric and Effortless.
What about your business are you most proud of?
That I built it from scratch! I know everyone has but I almost came out of college into this straight away. Granted, I had to get some retail jobs when the dreaded Covid hit, but I have persevered and have been making a living from music since I left college. I've also grown so much as a musician since then, which I owe almost entirely to the art of street performing, which really allowed me to hone my skill and get me those early wedding bookings which are the foundation of everything that I do now.
What is your No. 1 wedding planning tip for couples?
No music is too cheesy. Never don't have music over the signing of the documents; it's awkward! Be prepared to go with the flow!
What is your favourite personal touch you have seen at a wedding?
Lego guestbook; hands down! This was SO cute and a last minute idea from the couple but they pulled it off SO well!
Describe your typical process with a couple.
From booking, I require a signed contract and deposit .Then we can discuss song choices. I always give you the option to either; 1. Pick every song yourself from my repertoire 2. I pick and can read the room on the day 3. I send over a setlist which is revised!
Then, I will confirm all details with you, including my arrival time, what I need from you, what time I will start and finish, song choices for ceremonies, a DO NOT play list (more important than you might think!) and whether the venue needs anything from me (PAT Certificate, PLI Certificate) and contact details that are NOT the couple in the unlikely event I need to contact someone on the day!
What makes a romantic first dance?
A song that means something to the couple! The great thing about being a singing guitarist is that I can make my own arrangements and slow a song right down to the couples liking. No song is too cheesy!
What is your number one floor-filler?
Oh there are so many! Can't take my eyes off of you never misses!
Which band from the past would you most like to have been part of?
ABBA all day long!
What is the soundtrack to your life?
What a difficult question! There are simply too many to choose from; but If I could pick an Album, it would be Stick Season (We'll all be here forever) by Noah Kahan; he just talks about so many pure, human experiences through it.
