Describe your style in 5 adjectives.

What about your business are you most proud of?
I'm proud of the ideas I bring to my couples to make their day even more special.
What is your No. 1 wedding planning tip for couples?
If you want to ensure your wedding reception goes with a swing, find a venue which allows you to have the dance floor, bar and food all in the same space. Create a focal point for your evening celebrations and you can't go wrong. Oh and don't book a Photo Booth! They're the kiss of death for the dance floor. Speak to me about The Tomfoolery Box instead.
What is your favourite personal touch you have seen at a wedding?
I love it when couples have some fun with their table decor to make it really personal. I'm a sucker for those couples who've named their tables after favourite musicians, songs or places they've been. Get creative to transform your venue. Choose album artwork from your favourite bands to decorate your tables and then get your DJ to play music from these artists throughout the meal.
Describe your typical process with a couple.
I'm glad you asked! It all starts with a meeting, either face-to-face over a cuppa at my office in Whitstable or perhaps a Skype video chat or conference call. As with all your suppliers, it's important to find a DJ that's a good fit for you and your wedding day. So I'd always advise you meet up with your prospective wedding suppliers. I'm sure you've got lots of questions you want to ask and I've got plenty of my own to ask you; What's important to you about your wedding day? Will we find you on the dance floor or propping up the bar? How do you feel about being in the spotlight? Do you have any wedding themes or colour schemes? Tell me about weddings you've been too before, what did you love and hate? Tell me about what music you and your guests love to dance to? What music do you hate? All these and more help me build a picture of your wedding day vision and suggest ideas to complement it. All my couples get a wedding entertainment handbook, packed with ideas, music lists and inspiration to make your wedding day personal. This is for you to fill out with all the things you like and don't like for your day.We can also talk about some other options to enhance your day. Once I know exactly what you'd like me to do for you on your wedding day I'll put together a bespoke package price just for you. All bookings are confirmed in writing with a booking agreement and then I typically meet up with my couples again in the lead up to to their day to plan out all the little details. As a full-time DJ I'm always available on email or phone to discuss any concerns you might have up until the day of the wedding.
What makes a romantic first dance?
Not all my couples necessarily want their first dance to be 'romantic'. You're first dance should be an expression of you as a couple. Maybe choosing a song that's more fun and light hearted might be more your kind of thing. Just makes sure you choose a song that means something to you both. When I meet with couples we discuss ideas to stage the perfect first dance. Frequently the bride will choose to have a Father & Daughter dance. For many brides it can prove a romantic touch to dance with Dad first and then I invite him to give the bride away again to the groom before transitioning into their first dance. Dancing On Clouds is a service I offer to complement the First Dance, which involves the bride and groom taking to the dance floor immersed in a carpet of white fluffy clouds. This can provide a romantic touch to any first dance.
