What is your most memorable wedding?
The most memorable Wedding that I've ever had the pleasure of DJing was where the bride had spent the majority of her life trying to get in touch with her Dad. Another family member managed to find him before the Wedding Day and arranged for him to be waiting at the church to walk her down the isle - it's safe to say it was quite an emotional day!
Describe your style in 5 adjectives.
Adaptable, Reliable, Witty, Courteous & Considerate
What about your business are you most proud of?
That I will strive to ensure every Bride and Groom will have the day they've always dreamed of. No Wedding should be the same. You are two individuals that deserve a bespoke playlist that reflects you and your guests.
What is your No. 1 wedding planning tip for couples?
Don't write a list of EVERTHING you think a Wedding should have, write a list of everything YOU want on your special day then prioritise those into an order of how important they are to you. As an example, if a cake isn't a real big deal to you - don't spend £700 on it - have something different and save the money. If your not bothered about having a great DJ on the night then create a Spotify playlist and play it as background music! If you want to see everyone up on the dancefloor creating a night to remember - find a DJ that specialises in Weddings. This is your day - you won't get another one (hopefully) - make the day go YOUR way.
What is your favourite personal touch you have seen at a wedding?
A tree was planted when the Bride was born in at the family home. Just a few weeks before the Wedding, the tree was blown over by a storm we had. The father of the groom had the tree cut to become the centre pieces of the tables. I thought that was a real nice touch.
Describe your typical process with a couple.
I would ensure the date is free first, get a brief understanding of what they are looking to achieve on their special day, if they are happy to go ahead, I would arrange to meet with them to discuss further details, if they are happy to go ahead after meeting me, a deposit would need to be paid to secure the date. I would then call again two weeks before the wedding to run through the day for peace of mind.
What makes a romantic first dance?
I love it when a couples first dance has a story behind it, whether it was played when they went out on a first date, the lyrics match the story they've had - just anything that has a personal touch.
What is your number one floor-filler?
It really depends on the style of the music from the night that's been discussed with the Bride & Groom before the Wedding. This could be
Robin S - Show Me Love, Walk The Moon - Shut Up And Dance but I do believe that every genre of music has it's own floor fillers.
Which band from the past would you most like to have been part of?
I'm a huge fan of Old Skool RnB personally so maybe Dru-Hill, its only really Old Skool RnB events that I get to play that kind of playlist but my focus is always to play what I believe will create the best atmosphere for the couple.
What is the soundtrack to your life?
Shut Up & Dance - Walk The Moon! A huge hit for the Wedding Industry. I like to let the music do the talking and make sure you're guests have a night they'll never forget. That said, if you'd like a personality DJ for your special day I can certainly assist!
