I'm just going to take my work hat off - I was the bride choosing my marquee company in 2014, I chose Southern Events and they were brilliant. I loved planning my wedding so much i joined SE in 2015.

We are a small marquee company based in Newick, East Sussex. We stock clearspan marquees alongside a range of Furniture, giving you the chance to create your own unique reception venue. If we don't have what your looking for, we usually can point you in the right direction or help you source it. We know no two marquee bookings are the same, so will tailor your booking to your day.

All our quotes are bespoke to your Wedding. Although we can give you a guide price, we will always like to come and do a site visit to meet you and get a good understanding of how you would like your day to look. At this appointment we can advise you of anything that could improve your Wedding.

We are often asked for a generic quote, however with marquees the options are endless. We offer a tailormade quote for all our clients whether this is for 1 tent or 50 tents. The more information you can provide us the more accurate we can make your quote. We do have a number of packages available on our website for 80/100/120 people. You can find more information https://www.southernevents.co.uk/wedding-package The Clearspan Marquees can be built on grass and hard-surface and can be linked together with other sized marquees to make the perfect tent for your space. With options for windows, roofs and linings. If your still not sure why not use our FREE site visit service? One of our team will come out to your site and advise the best options to make the most of your event space. We used Southern events for our wedding.

We used Southern events for our wedding. They are responsive, organised and worked tirelessly to install the marquee, carpet, flooring etc. - really couldn't recommend them enough for a large event. They also recommended caterers and decoration hire companies who worked together with Southern events to make the setup for our wedding very smooth. Thank you Katie and the team!

We hired Southern Events

We hired Southern Events for my Granddaughters wedding and I would recommend them to anyone. They were prompt with both assembly and removal of the marquee. There was a small issue with the measurements but the they overcame this quickly. The team were friendly and efficient and left my garden spotless. Thank you so much.

They are amazing!

I can`t recommend Katie and the team at Southern Events enough - they are amazing! We used Southern Events for our wedding in June 2019 and they were so helpful throughout the entire process, it really made the planning and build-up a lot easier. We had so many compliments on the marquee and the food from our guests, it really made the day. Katie was our main point of contact and she was fantastic - very patient in answering all my emails and questions, and very accommodating of the little touches we wanted to add to make the day run as we wanted it to. We felt very fortunate to be able to ask her advice on a range of issues, and she was always happy to give her opinion based on her experience of other weddings and large events. The day itself was better than we could have hoped for and this was due, in large part, to Katie and her team making sure everything ran smoothly in the background.

Southern Events put us at ease immediately.

When we first planned to stage this style of wedding, it seemed quite daunting as there were so many elements to arrange. Southern Events put us at ease immediately. They could supply everything, from marquee, to toilets, power, stage for band and even an outside bar. Throughout the whole build up they were so friendly and accommodating to additional requests…it really felt like they cared we had the day we anted. And on the day they were superb. Everyone enjoyed the food… and Tom, Hannah and the team helped make everything flow seamlessly. For everything they did they were also very reasonably priced and we never felt they were doing what many companies so when they hear the word ‘wedding’ and adding a zero to the end of every cost. We couldn’t recommend Southern Events highly enough and would like to say a massive thank you for helping to make our dream wedding a reality.

What is your most memorable wedding?

There are so many weddings to choose from, as we have been doing this for many years and every bride makes our marquee unique to them. You feel like your walking into a different venue every time, even if the structure is the same. One of my favourite weddings was Tom & Lily's wedding in September a few years ago, they choose a beautiful design which was half clear/ half white which gave them the perfect space to dance under the stars but have the coverage for the daytime when it was extremely warm. With rustic tables and decorations they created the perfect rustic/ modern combination.

What is your No. 1 wedding planning tip for couples?

Book on your worst case numbers as we can always make things smaller, its harder to find additional items.

Describe your typical process with a couple.

We ask you to email us with as much information you can about the space and your ideas, we then help you by creating a bespoke quote tailored to your details. If you would like to go ahead with the quote we then book in a site visit with one of the marquee foreman to check access and the area the marquee is being installed. We ask for a 10% deposit on booking and the remainder 2 weeks before install, this allows you to make any changes you require.

What is your favourite design of marquee and why?

I love a marquee with a reveal curtain or hidden separate marquee space. Giving you the option to hide elements away and surprise your guests later.
