What is your most memorable wedding?
Every one of our weddings has had it's own style, from an intimate reception for 50 guests in a private garden to an all out showstopper at a castle for 500 guests and we've enjoyed being part of each and every one of them. Our standards are exceptionally high for all of our weddings and our brides are our top priority. If we had to choose one stand-out moment from all of the weddings we've been lucky enough to be a part of, it would have to be when one of our grooms abseiled down the side of a castle into the marquee!
Describe your style in 5 adjectives.
stunning, attention to detail, pristine, unique, personal
What about your business are you most proud of?
When we supplied our very first wedding marquee back in 2008, we never imagined that we would become an award winning wedding marquee supplier and that's all down to our wonderful brides! Our teams have set themselves exceptionally high standards for your wedding marquees and, even though you might be completely overjoyed by what you see, they won't leave site until they're 100% happy. We're really proud of our awards but we're much prouder of our teams.
What is your No. 1 wedding planning tip for couples?
There are huge variations in standards throughout the marquee industry and my number one tip would be to go and physically see a marquee set up for a wedding by any supplier you may be interested in using. We offer this to every one of our brides and not only do they find it helpful from a layout / interior planning point of view, they can see our standards for themselves.
What is your favourite personal touch you have seen at a wedding?
This is a really difficult one to answer. We get to know our brides (and grooms) pretty well during the planning process and we have seen some fabulous personal touches and some gorgeous hand made touches which makes this impossible to answer, every one of them is individual and unique.
Describe your typical process with a couple.
Our process is very personal. Initially, to provide a quotation, we just need guest numbers, a date and the location of the marquee. After that we will come and meet you, talk through your ideas (and make suggestions) and take a look at where you would like the marquee. We'll also invite you to come and view one of our marquees set up for a wedding. We'll do this as close as possible to where you are, we'll offer various dates and we'll try to also show you one of a similar size to what yours will be.
How do you create an ambiance in a marquee?
We find that lighting is great for creating an ambience. We have chandelier lighting, LED multi function up lights (these are great fun) as well as black starlight ceilings and using one or all of these together helps to create the mood you want.
Where is the most exciting place that you have put a marquee?
We've been lucky enough to have been invited to put marquees up in some beautiful places and have faced some challenges along the way. I think the one which immediately springs to mind has to be a marquee built out of the side of a very steep hill on a scaffolding base, it was certainly different!
What is your record time for putting up your marquee?
No-one can believe their eyes when they see our men build a marquee. They really do go up so quickly, but this is just the bare shell, the interior takes much longer. We aim to have your marquee built and finished in one day, which is usually two days before the wedding, so that you have the day before the wedding for any interior decorations you'd like to add, and so that the caterers, florists etc can also set up.
What is your favourite design of marquee and why?
Although we have different styles of marquee, our frame marquees are our favourite for weddings. They have no interior poles, can be more easily divided into areas, we can add annexes to them for chill out areas, bar areas, children's play areas, cloakrooms and anything else you might need an extra room added on for. They are also more versatile when it comes to fitting them into a smaller space, if a garden is 'L' shaped, the marquee can be too.
