Enjoy your wedding planning! Do not let it become too stressful. Make sure you always use suppliers that you love and trust. They must be able to create the vision you are imagining for your big day.
What is your favourite personal touch you have seen at a wedding?
Memory tables are always a lovely personal touch, as well as pictures of the couple over the years used as table numbers.
Describe your typical process with a couple.
Once an enquiry has been received, Oakwood flowers will be in touch to arrange a consultation with the couple to discuss their floral requirements for their big day. After the consultation we will promptly create a bespoke itemised quote for the couple to review, this will included inspiration pictures to help the couple visualise what they can expect from us on their wedding day. If the couple is happy with the quote we take a deposit to secure the booking and from there you can trust us with creating beautiful florals for your wedding day.
What is the most interesting thing you have put in a bouquet?
I have created many bridal bouquets over the past 7 years, each one completely unique from the last. We have included succulents, dried elements and figurines in bouquets, as well as my favourite personal touch of attaching a locket to the handle of the bouquet, usually in memory of a loved one.
Is there a flower that has specific symbolism that you would recommend for couples?
Freesias are a beautiful dainty flowers that can be subtly added to your floral arrangements, I particularly love freesias because they symbolise trust and friendship, two of the most important factors of a new marriage.
What is the most romantic flower and why?
Roses are classically the most romantic flowers due to their symbolism of true love.
What should you do with the flowers after the wedding?
Any flowers provided by Oakwood flowers for your wedding are yours to keep! We pride ourselves on using the freshest flowers possible so keep them for a few days or there are also lots of options out there for preserving your wedding flowers.
